Update []: It looks like Sony has pulled the PS Store listing of Mafia 3 while it fixes an issue which meant players in the UK could claim it for free. It’s unclear just yet whether those copies will be honoured or revoked.

The platform holder has also corrected Call of Duty: WWII’s page in the past hour, and that game now once again costs £54.99. If you nabbed it for free, do let me know if you’re able to continue playing or not.

Original Story: Mafia 3 and all of its associated DLC is currently available for free on the PS Store in several countries, with no PS Plus required. You can get it through here.

Fans have also noticed that Call of Duty: WWII is also available at no extra cost in several countries, which we’ve been able to corroborate. You can claim that through here as well.

Many of you in the UK as well as various European countries will be able to grab the Activision and 2K Games escapades at no cost, although it’s unclear if this is an error and will be revoked.

In the US, it looks like Mafia 3 is still priced at $29.99, although you can also get all of the release’s DLC for free. It might be worth adding those to your catalogue should you ever pick up the game.

Call of Duty: WWII is showing at full-price, $59.99, in the US for me unfortunately, so our American friends may be out of luck.

I’ll continue to monitor this situation to see if it’s an error or a genuine promotion; I’m leaning towards the latter, but sometimes Sony will honour titles claimed in this way.

Assuming it is a mistake, though, you’ll need to be fast, as I imagine this will get fixed pretty quick.

Mafia 3 got a bit of a rough reception upon release, but I personally really enjoyed its documentary-inspired presentation method and heady sense of place. I’d really recommend it – especially for free.

Meanwhile, we described Call of Duty: WWII as a “safe” but “solid” historical shooter. Again, it’s worth a look.
