Pokémon Knock-Off Palworld Gets a Breath of the Wild-Inspired Copycat for PS5 1

All is fair in love and plagiarism.

Palworld, already in an intense battle with Nintendo’s legal team, will now take a taste of its own medicine, with PickMon due out on PS5 at some point in the future.

The game shares PocketPair’s love for Pokémon designs, but throws in survival gameplay and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild tunic for good measure.

Much like Palworld, this is being pitched as an open world survival game, so you’ll be taming PickMon to fight your battles in a vast, rural open world.

Here are the key features, listed in the game’s debut trailer:

Capture Creatures
Use specialized cards to tame various Pickmon and turn them into your most trusted allies!
Epic Storyline
Traverse the mysterious continent with your companions, uncover lost history, and thwart the schemes of a shadowy organization.
Vast Exploration
From lush grasslands and dense jungles to frozen tundras, volcanic peaks, deep valleys, and arid deserts – use your Pickmon's unique abilities to conquer every terrain!
Base Building
Design and construct a home for you and your Pickmon team.
Farming for Survival
Establish farms to secure your food supply and ensure your survival in the wild.
Industrial Automation
Build factories to automate the production of gear and weapons. Stay armed and ready!
Multiplayer Fun
Join forces with friends in online co-op and face the unknown together!

We’re not convinced this is ever actually going to come out, but it’s available to wishlist on Steam right now, and the dev says it plans to port the project to PlayStation at a later date.

So which lawyers bite first? Palworld’s or Pokémon’s? It could go either way, we reckon.
