Genshin Impact Anime Reappears After Years in the Wilderness 1

The long-awaited Genshin Impact anime, first announced all the way back in 2022, is still in production at powerhouse studio ufotable.

As part of a promotional reel confirming its upcoming projects, the Japanese company listed its adaptation of HoYoverse’s hit gacha alongside major titles, like the second part of its Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movie arc.

The anime was first announced in 2022 alongside a breath-taking trailer, but has been missing in action in subsequent years. While the new clip doesn’t really show much, it does at least confirm ongoing development of the project.

And it’s not the only anime gaming fans have to look forward to from ufotable this year.

Sony subsidiary ANIPLEX and game dev Type-Moon has announced its adaptation of PS4 visual novel Witch on the Holy Night will premiere in Japanese theatres later this year. You can check out a short trailer as part of the reel embedded above.

Similarly, to celebrate its 30th anniversary, ufotable is working on something new in Bandai Namco’s popular Tales series. It previously worked on the television show Tales of Zestiria the X, as well as cutscenes for various games in the franchise, including the most recent Tales of Arise.

All will be revealed on 3rd April, apparently.

Sony has been talking at length about the power of anime with regards to PlayStation, and we’re slowly seeing that reflected in some of these announcements.

While it’s ANIPLEX who’s playing a major role in these announcements for now, don’t forget that an anime version of Ghost of Tsushima Legends is also in development under PS Productions and Crunchyroll.
