Konami Is on a Roll! Wins Back-to-Back Players' Choice Awards on PS Blog 1

Has any publisher won back-to-back Players’ Choice awards on the PS Blog before?

We’re not going to sift through the entire history of the fan voted poll, but we reckon it’s unlikely.

Konami has just pulled it off, though, following up Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s success in August with Silent Hill F in September.

In truth, the poll wasn’t even that close: the survival horror attracted almost 50% of the votes from engaged PlayStation fans, with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter finishing second with about 34%.

Flavour of the month Hollow Knight: Silksong could only attract about 10% of the votes, leaving the likes of Borderlands 4 and Sonic Racing CrossWorlds to battle for the remaining scraps.

Obviously, this is just a poll on the PS Blog so it doesn’t carry any legitimate weight, but it does demonstrate how well Konami’s games have been resonating with fans. After years out in the wilderness, it’s good to see the Japanese publisher’s efforts rewarded.

We’re now very hopeful for what the future holds for Konami. Remember, it wasn’t that long ago that it seemed like it was going to step away from games entirely, so this is positive stuff.

And by the way, the publisher’s on track for back-to-back wins on Push Square as well, after Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater took our Game of the Month gong for August. We’ll announce September’s results imminently…
