Popular free-to-play hero shooter Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, of course, but it'll soon be coming to Sony's last-gen console too.
Yes, the game is bound for PS4, as confirmed at the end of this latest trailer:
This Season 4 trailer, which gives players a glimpse at new characters Daredevil and Angela, reveals PS4 as a platform right at the end.
It seems the last-gen rendition of Marvel Rivals will go live at the same time as Season 4's debut, on 12th September 2025.
It'll be interesting to see how the PS4 version performs, and how many more players it'll bring into the game. Obviously, there are a lot of PS4s out there, so on paper this seems like a smart move from NetEase.

Jeez Angela's design.
What about xbox one x? Doing one without the other is stupid.
@beltmenot Probably not enough of a player base to make it worth it.
@beltmenot it does when the other hasn't sold as well as the first one
Angela’s an interesting choice actually. Hope they acknowledge her being a lesbian but well, it’s NetEase.
People talked a lot about this killing Overwatch, but it's Steam daily player count is already only twice that of OW2 (after being 15 times as high 6 months ago), whilst OW2s is the same as it was 6 months ago.
Not the first time a next gen game announces a previous gen port lol
@AdamNovice They gave her abs so I'm not complaining.
We're moving backwards now. Meanwhile other publishers are killing PS4 support on their live games...
Let's see if these publishers will keep support for the PS5 until 2035 and beyond...
I think this is the first season with a hero vs hero plot. Daredevil vs Angela would be a hilariously lopsided fight, not sure he can even punch hard enough for her to notice. It's a necessary part of the gameplay, but it's just funny doing a whole season around it.
Hopefully this means a Switch 2 version isn't far off.
I'm gonna try it for sure on PS4
