In what could be considered a worrying precedent, Elden Ring Nightreign does absolutely nothing with the PS5 Pro.
While games are required to run on Sony’s supercharged hardware, developers aren’t obligated to take advantage of the additional horsepower on offer. However, it’s rare for major titles to skip support for the system – even Microsoft has been tailoring its titles to the console.
But FromSoftware is law unto itself, and according to Digital Foundry, it hasn’t bothered supporting the improved hardware specification at all.

Now, if you’re playing on the PS5 Pro you will be granted some advantages compared to the standard PS5, purely due to the sheer grunt of the system. For example, in Frame Rate mode the game will generally retain higher resolutions than it does on base consoles because it has a little more power to work with.
The same is true in Quality mode, where the title maintains a slightly higher overall frame rate advantage. But it still can’t stick to 60fps in either setting on any console, and is all a bit of a mess.
