Rematch, the online multiplayer football game from the makers of Sifu and Absolver, is due for release in June, but before then, you'll get a chance to check it out with an open beta test.
The latest beta will involve consoles for the first time, including PS5 of course. The open beta takes place from 28th May to 31st May, starting and ending at 1pm BST / 5am PDT / 8am EDT on those respective dates.
To take part, you can sign up for a beta invitation via the official website, but developer Sloclap will be opening up access to everyone starting 29th May.
In order to play the beta, you will need an active PS Plus subscription. Cross-play won't feature in the beta, but it will be supported in the final game.
To recap, Rematch is a 5v5 football/soccer game in which 10 players fill each individual position on the pitch. It's a sort of Rocket League-ification of the real sport; short match times, no fouls or referee, an emphasis on teamwork, and arenas that allow you to bounce the ball off walls.
It's a big pivot from Sloclap's combat-focused titles, but Rematch seems to retain the studio's snappy movement and animation, and it appears to have a similarly high skill ceiling too.
We're curious to give the game a try with the open beta next week, but what about you? Let us know in the comments section below.

I was hoping to give the technical test a go a few weeks ago but they sent me a code for the wrong platform.
It'll be good to finally give this a go because I'm still on the fence about it.
I was hoping it would be my Rocket League replacement. But Rocket League is free and this doesn't look like something worth 190PLN/€45.
@The_Elder €45? Are you sure you're not looking at the Deluxe edition? In the UK the standard edition is £20.
For some reason the PS store app directs you to the most expensive version by default and you have to click on it to see the other versions.
@SleepyNick you are totally right. I searched on the PS app, got inly 1 results with standard picture, no indication that it's 'elite' edition...
I loved the era of NBA Jam and NFL Blitz style sports games. This looks like it might scratch the same itch. Looking forward to it.
This seems fun enough for me to try. Seems like an actual rocket league fun, but clearly it's more scripted and less skill needed than rl. Still tempting to try it out b
With this and hypercharge, my group has 2 games to reenergize MP
