Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 PC

Sony's in-house PC port studio Nixxes Software has released two hotfixes today designed to help reduce the number of crashes players are encountering in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The game's PC port released late last week in a poor state, with users facing frequent crashing issues. Some reported having their game crash as often as every 20 to 30 minutes, and these hotfixes will work to put a stop to them.

The patch notes for hotfix v1.202.0.0 are as follows:

  • Various crash fixes and stability improvements.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause Achievements not being awarded on some configurations.
  • Triangle and Square button prompts are now displayed correctly when using a DualShock 4 controller with Steam Input enabled.
  • Resolved a frame rate related bug that could block players during the mission ‘Show Me New York'.

The latest PC port out of Sony, the web-slinging sequel hasn't exactly set the personal computer scene on fire over the weekend. The game attracted a peak player count just north of 28,000, which is less than half what the original game attracted when it made the jump over. While player counts don't match with actual sales, it is tough to believe the PC version has sold all that better than what SteamDB is tracking.
