Sony's in-house PC port studio Nixxes Software has released two hotfixes today designed to help reduce the number of crashes players are encountering in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The game's PC port released late last week in a poor state, with users facing frequent crashing issues. Some reported having their game crash as often as every 20 to 30 minutes, and these hotfixes will work to put a stop to them.
The patch notes for hotfix v1.202.0.0 are as follows:
- Various crash fixes and stability improvements.
- Fixed a bug that could cause Achievements not being awarded on some configurations.
- Triangle and Square button prompts are now displayed correctly when using a DualShock 4 controller with Steam Input enabled.
- Resolved a frame rate related bug that could block players during the mission ‘Show Me New York'.
The latest PC port out of Sony, the web-slinging sequel hasn't exactly set the personal computer scene on fire over the weekend. The game attracted a peak player count just north of 28,000, which is less than half what the original game attracted when it made the jump over. While player counts don't match with actual sales, it is tough to believe the PC version has sold all that better than what SteamDB is tracking.

Games actually do sell "all that better than what steam DB is tracking". If you look at sales numbers that released and available for games that also have peak steam DB numbers available, the sales figures often quadruple what the peak steam players numbers are.
Not sure why people are so fascinated with these numbers, as they are only for people who are playing at the same time. I picked up the port and havent gotten a chance to play it. Not everyone is going to start playing the game at 11am on a thursday, people have jobs and lives.
@Gelly there's a good thread online about creating a separate folder in the root of the game installation folder and moving two dlls over. Along with this update, doing that has helped me avoid a tooooon of bugs.
There's also a mod for better dlss and fsr should you need to upscale or use frame gen.
Having a blast so far and not too many issues thanks to the community suggestions. But the port definitely needs work. I only played knowing I could mitigate a lot of the trouble. Just a heads up for when you give it a try!
When your releasing emergency hotfixes for your game you know it should have been delayed even more, because their mindset was clearly to release now hope it passed steams 2hr refund marker without issues so makes refunds harder (depends). And fix their game going down the line it's another TLOUP1 fiasco that was an absolute cluster of a launch for PC and today it still doesn't work right even with powerful GPUs, that game should have been pulled and totally redone
PC master race huh lol
Sony master SLOP
Hmmm another terrible PS port to PC.
Think Sony should stop porting PS games to the PC since they never seem to be good ports
I heard this game got pirated like crazy on PC
