Remember Phantom Blade Zero from PS Showcase? There'll Be a 30 Minute PS5 Demo Next Year

Side-scrolling prequel also coming to PS5, PS4 later this year

Do you remember Phantom Blade Zero? It temporarily dropped jaws during this year’s PS Showcase, although there has been scepticism regarding the status of the project, as it simply looks and sounds too good to be true. Chinese developer S-GAME hopes to alleviate fears next year, as during a presentation at the ChinaJoy convention this weekend, it said it’s plotting a 30-minute demo for release in 2024.

The presentation also featured side-scrolling prequel Phantom Blade: Executioners, which is scheduled to release on PS5 and PS4 later this year. While the developer didn’t show any new gameplay for either title, you can check out a ton of artwork courtesy of the entire presentation, embedded above. Obviously the whole thing is in Mandarin, though, so don’t expect to glean too much information from the panel – unless you speak the lingo, of course.

Fair play, no where to hide if they do a demo. Feel like this title could be anywhere between a joke and a complete gamechanger.

Honestly looking forward to both the demo and Executioners. This looks like it could be awesome in gameplay.

Hmm... Scepticism intensifies. Aniuve a game that looks phenomenal. Then promise a demo in the nebulous "2024" then announce another, smaller game that's slated for this year without showing gameplay.

All that aside I really do hope that game looks and plays like the Reveal trailer cause that was amazing!

I was hoping the side scroller would come to PlayStation in some form.
That's great news. The android version isn't available where I am. (Assuming that we're talking about a port of the android game.)

I can't wait to try that demo.
I've heard the scepticism before, but the Devs addressed a lot of it in an AMA after the trailer was revealed.

The camera angle will be a normal third person camera, but they manipulated it for cinematic effect in the trailer.
The combat is apparently legit. They have what sounds like a very cool system that tees up attack moves in the background and allows for the very fluid combat on display in the trailer.
Tbf, some of what we saw, like the fight on the cart, is probably qte.

So from the China showcase Sony walks away with no actual dates. The whole thing reads like an investment scam.

Nice, although I wish the game has more interesting name, for a moment I though it's the nier automata-like game that's on ps5 presentation back then. I think that game name is stellar blade.
