Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition will be bringing Flying Wild Hog's chaotic action game to PS5 in the very near future. Set for a 16th February release, the updated package includes a new survival mode, New Game Plus, and a hardcore mode. Chapter select is also being added, and you'll be able to choose between quality (4K, 30 frames-per-second) and performance (60fps priority) graphics settings.
Full haptic feedback functionality is being implemented as well, so your DualSense controller should be rumbling like never before. Oh, and it's a free upgrade if you already own Shadow Warrior 3 on PS4. That's what we like to hear.
Are you a Shadow Warrior fan? Will you be playing through Shadow Warrior 3 for the first time on PS5, or is this an upgrade run? Drop some dumb jokes in the comments section below.
Used to be on Extra/Premium didn't it? I hope the ps5 ver makes a return.
@AndyKazama It did mate, I finished it just before it got taken away from premium but was 1 trophy of the platinum!! Hope it comes back so I can finish it off as it was mindless fun.
I bought this the other day so will definitely use the free upgrade
Love the first Shadow Warrior and am currently playing the second. Will definitely grab this on sale
I platinumed this on PS4 and definitely enjoyed it but didn't find it near as funny as SW2 - that one I laughed out loud at a good number of times. I suppose I might revisit it if the PS4 trophy stack gets some add'l trophies but I didn't like it enough to replay it all over again on the 5. Still a pretty good game though and definitely a great looking game.
Free upgrades are always welcome!
@ManifoldCuriosity Can the first two games be played on PS4/PS5?
Both the first and the second game got PS4 releases yes. You can find them digitally for usually pretty cheap.
I played this when it was on Extra (it left it shortly after the service launched) so I don’t own it… Fun game though, I enjoyed it.
@KidBoruto Yes, but the controls in the first Shadow Warrior were very sensitive. Not sure if it's how it's programmed or it just doesn't work perfect with DualSense. I've had a few PS4 games where there are some issues with the DualSense but they work fine with a DualShock 4.
