There are certain things players have begun to expect of PlayStation's first-party games, including photo mode, lots of accessibility options, and a New Game Plus mode. While this obviously varies from title to title, it was expected that God of War Ragnarok would eventually get the latter, seeing as its predecessor received the mode in a post-launch update.

Today, Santa Monica Studio has confirmed it'll be doing the same for Ragnarok:

As far as details go, we'll have to wait until the new year. However, we imagine it'll be treated similarly to the mode in God of War 2018. That is to say you'll have access to all your upgraded gear, cutting down the runtime somewhat, and beefing up enemy encounters. It'll be a great extra challenge if you're still hankering for more time with the Leviathan Axe.
