Shown off during Summer Game Fest was a new trailer for Soul Hackers 2 in which we got to hear the English voice cast for the first time. In addition, it was announced that both physical and digital pre-orders are now live for PS5 and PS4.
Here's what you can expect from each version:
- Digital Pre-orders – Standard Edition £49.99/$59.99, Digital Deluxe £54.99/$69.99 & Premium Edition £74.99/$89.99
- Digital pre-orders are available beginning today for Soul Hackers 2. Receive a pre-order exclusive Persona 5 Phantom Thieves Outfit pack at launch when you place your digital pre-order now for any digital edition.
- The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the Full Game, Booster Item Pack and Bonus Story Arc: The Lost Numbers
- The Premium Edition includes the Full Game, Booster Item Pack, Bonus Story Arc: The Lost Numbers, Costume & BGM pack, Bonus Demon Pack, and two digital premium exclusives: Ai-ho Demon and Mary’s Maid Frock Outfit
Soul Hackers 2 will be the fifth game in the Devil Summoner series, which is a spinoff of the larger Shin Megami Tensei franchise, like the more well-known Persona series.
We got to see Soul Hackers 2 in action recently, and it looks to continue the Mega-Ten tradition of tough, but stylish, turn-based combat.

Never heard of this game. Looks good-ish, but has the original been released over here?
@thefourfoldroot1 Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers was remastered for the Nintendo 3DS back in 2013, which is the only version that ever made its way outside of Japan. Physical copies are hard to find now.

@thefourfoldroot1 I doubt Atlus expects players to have experience with the original Soul Hackers. Soul Hackers itself was the second game in this particular subseries, and required no familiarity with the first Devil Summoner game. I'm sure this will be the same in that regard.

Yeah cause screw those people who pre-order a physical copy. I don't like pre-order exclusive bonuses in general but now they even are making a difference between digital and physical? That's scummy
Looks great! Super stylish as always with Atlus. For sure going to pick this one up. It's shaping up to be a good couple months for JRPG fans with this and then Trails from Zero in September.
Atlus doing their standard DLC practices. In that case, I might wait for the base game to be heavily discounted in a sale before getting it.
@thefourfoldroot1 they don't follow story, similar to the main persona games as new entries aren't direct sequels
Can't wait to play this on ps5, just picked up shin megami tensei 5 as well but don't know if I should play it yet if this is a couple of months away

@mariomaster96 Well to be fair, it doesn't seem to be available for preorder, at least in the UK. There's a kind of placeholder preorder on Amazon that has the release date as the 31st ofDecember 2022 - the actual release date is the 26th of August. When it goes up for preorder properly, you'll probably see this on the item pages.
def buying this day 1. will likely preorder it too. comes out on Aug 26th - the day before my birthday!
Update the article. It doesn't come out until August 26. Some people might get a little confused if they didn't already know.
