A new page on the official PlayStation website has been discovered today that focuses on PSVR2. It covers everything we've known up to now, including the new Sense controllers and all the technology packed into the device. However, it's what's at the bottom of the page that'll interest readers the most. You can now sign up using your PSN account to receive "PS VR2 news, including game announcements, release dates and when you can pre-order your headset".
We think it's the last detail that'll have VR supporters flocking to the site in their droves. If current PS5 Stock is anything to go by, then getting your hands on a PSVR2 headset whenever it launches likely won't prove too easy either. Signing up means you'll also hear word of official game announcements, with Horizon Call of the Mountain being the first.
"Escape into worlds that feel truly real as virtual reality gaming takes a huge generational leap forward," the promotional page reads. Are you looking to do so? Check out our PSVR2 guide for all the latest information and let us know if you've signed up in the comments below.

Leaked photos of the PSVR2

This will be fantastic to buy from a scalper on eBay
Still not sold on VR… a PSVR2 port of Half-Life: Alyx would go along way to remedy that though.
Where do I sign!?
I signed up because why not 🤷♂️
Managed to get my Quest 2 linked to my gaming PC via wireless, with no lag 2 weeks ago - I have not stopped playing since. As the PSVR2 has better lenses and faster response, it should be epic.
well it only runs on ps5 so there will be limited interest anyway
Any word on cost?
Signed up, nothing to lose. Hoping it's fantastic!
This is feeling like it's going to be special. Very excited to hear more.
I'm a little bit interested this time round even though I think VR is still going to be pretty niche for a while yet.
Let's hope they go for a proper pre-order system this time, presumably prioritising PS5 owners.
That's a lot of P's.
Signed up, I absolutely loved the first one, there were a lot of gems on it. I also am hoping for Firewall 2! I definitely played Firewall the most of any VR game.
I think this will be easier to get than a PS5 as it a a niche product. Depending on the price not everyone will want to spunk out £4-500 straight away. I’ll be creating a little nest egg for one for sure.
Signed up just incase. Hoping the preorder won't have to much difficulty in getting one.
I don't even have a PS5 yet, but I signed up for PSVR2. I have PSVR, and it was really good. Any improvement just put it over the top to me.
Hopefully I get a PS5 this year, I don't want to go the scalpers route...
Take my money!!!!
If it can't connect to pc I will write a message or 2 complaining about it!
I'm interested in the device but is going to have to prove itself and only end user reviews on how well it handles motion sickness.
Always struggle to log in, anyone else having problems? Cheers...
Headline says pre-order signup. Site says sign up to be notified..... Not quite the same thing. It's just a mailing list.
We're not able to sign up for pre-orders. Fix your headlines
@NomNom I'm in the same boat. I will probably be offered a PSVR2 preorder before I get my hands on a PS5. I'm very interested in this one having skipped the first one mostly due to the move controllers being used.
Didn't get the first one but will be on this day one no problem.
Thanks! I have signed up for updates and preorder info. It must be end of this year.
Resident Evil VII, Village and 4 VR games/updates for PSVR2 are all coming to the PSVR2 before long right? With possibility of free or low-cost updates at least for VII and Village? (I know nothing is confirmed, I just hope it is an evidence for Capcom)
Nice.
Hope PSVR2 becomes really popular, as that will ensure a steady stream of games for the headset.
@Victor_Meldrew PS5 an PSVR2 be sold together for $2000 on ebay.
Headline is a bit incorrect. This is an email signup not a preorder sign up.
I did sign up, looking forward to more info!
Sign up before the scalpers find out
Going to get scalped to death isn't it. Depressing
Removed - unconstructive
I've long believed the second PSVR will be my first venture into the space, I cautiously await news and reviews on this hardware.
TAKE MY MONEY SONY!
When Sony has VR, I don’t see many saying this will kill their dev power in making single player action adventure games. But the moment they say they are getting into the online space. Suddenly single player games are dead from them. It’s called variety, not all or nothing. Now I don’t play VR, but I am excited for the rest of the variety they are soon to be offering.
@__jamiie “TAKE MY MONEY SONY“
Careful buddy they might take that as charging $80 for their games. I’d be more specific. Just Kidding 😀
@Rural-Bandit Awww crap. I've set myself up for a fall haven't I? PSVR 2 games for £150+ is now going to be the norm. Stop Listening to me Jim Ryan!!! 😂
@Rural-Bandit All jokes aside, how much would you pay for PSVR2?
@__jamiie hahaha , right !! Thanks for the joke.
@__jamiie less than a 12 pack of Miller lite , VR gives me a headache and I like more competitive shooters and good single player games. That have super tight controls and frame rate. Now in fairness I haven’t messed with VR in a year and half. I’m sure things will tighten up more on PS5. It’s not a hard pass for me. But they have a lot of ground to gain to make me interested.
@Rural-Bandit Fair play.
@Rural-Bandit It's genuinely difficult to see who is awful and who is wonderful on this site. I like your thoughts because they seem to be rational.
@__jamiie wish it worked better for me. I’ll give it another shot at a friends before I buy. But for those that enjoy it. Snag it up. I love the money and excitement in the industry.
@__jamiie Buddy honest to god I really appreciate that. I am a odd bird to follow on here Pure Xbox and Nintendo life. Cause while I always own all 3, I have my likes and dislikes for all 3, that rubs people wrong as to why I’m subjective. Not “loyal” and all that jazz.but there’s things about all 3 that are really great and areas that need work. To be honest I play Xbox more than anything, Sony and Nintendo have become a primarily exclusive’s box for me and I love them for that. I get a 3rd party title from time to time on them. But if someone is enjoying their experience better on one platform more than the other, that’s a great thing cause it’s all great for the industry and their preference. I really appreciate you saying that tho, I really like these communities better than the ign’s and N4g’s. Those sites tend to allow to much uneducated and rude comments towards one another.
@Rural-Bandit You and I are kindred spirits. You're clearly a decent person with decent opinions.
@__jamiie I really appreciate that. The video game market has some wonderful people in it. I remember going to arcades and people just went to the machines they wanted to pay to play and didn’t argue with the others in the room that played a game or genre they don’t like. Face to face gamers are mostly decent to great. Behind a keyboard everyone is CEO and knows more than everyone. It’s sad, and subtracts more than add’s to the industry. If I come to your house and you make me a burger and ask me what condiments I like and I say Mayo, you don’t scald me and tell me how I’m an idiot cause I didn’t say ketchup. My point is why ask me what I like online if I’m mostly wrong in what I say and enjoy. So what I look for is others that can voice their opinions and thoughts in a intelligent and respectful manor. The industry is in a really good place now and truthfully has been for years. Enjoy it, life is to short to seek out others you want to argue with. This is a entertainment industry not UFC cage match. Sales metrics drive fights so easy. Pepsi won a blind taste test against coke and coke destroys them in sales. I try and get others to think with trying products they aren’t use to more than false narratives for something they don’t even play or intended to buy. Sorry I rambled. But it was a highlight of my week to see someone appreciate and understand my views. Your thoughtfulness to say something nice and understanding towards me was a great gesture in this industry. Instead of agreeing with me on the Platform I own or enjoy most.
I'm gonna wait for reviews and a steep discount, my normal gaming backlog is already massive.
So where's the pre-order sign up? All I see (and all you write about) is a newsletter where you will get an email that says when you will able to pre-order)
Done. All the info I can get on this is appreciated. Although I really hope that PSVR2 will be more comfortable for those of us whom are bespectacled... That's my only issue with any vr I've tried, esp. PSVR, worn for too long and I get bruises... 🙄 Unless I just have a funny shaped head... 🙃
My body is ready.
Day one buy for me.
I buy one if PS still supports it after 3 years after release with their own studios.
(PS5+PSVR2)GTA6…
Next gen is PSVR2 and Unreal 5. Everything that’s happening before either of those hasn’t really been significant.
Pre-order? But we haven't even seen the ***** in action yet. People are pretty stupid if they pre-order so soon.
Edit: Just read the article, the title is a bit misleading.
I've put me name down but I still would rather see the headset.
@hypnotoad Same and agreed, it's about time we saw the headset. I'm starting to get bored of the slow reveal of everything as it usually ends up in something of an anti-climax.
I've put my name down for this as I'm a huge advocate for VR.
Thanks for the reminder Push Square! Just did it myself.
One of the main reasons I want a PS5. But obviously there's no point in caring about this until I get one which may be years from now at this rate...
Too bad pre-orders aren't hard linked to owners of a PS5 so you can only get one if you own a PS5 that way low down gutter trash scalpers don't buy them all up, but they will and no one will get them for anything less than double retail. #deathtoscalpers
@Boucho11 Really! The same was said about the original PS VR but it was instantly sold out in most countries, I had to order mine from Spain through Amazon. I loved the VR as did everyone that used mine the only thing I hated was the travel sickness and limited movement which I believe most of that sorted *though being fully wireless would have been much better
@invictus4000 I have managed to buy 4 PlayStation 5 consoles and not a scalper
@HEVIHITR That’s a great idea and easy for Sony to do!
@invictus4000 more stock due this month
Just finished HL Alyx via Quest 2 to Pc wireless - fantastic game.
First full AAA title I’ve played - and no motion sickness at all. With a battery pack I played for 8 hrs straight.
I hope Sony have tried this, because to play in fantastic resolution (ultra on the PC with 120hz mode on the headset) but with no wires, was a revelation.
To go back to wires will feel like a step backwards - when it’s completely doable.
i don't see it being an issue with scalpers as much with the ps5. there are only so many ps5 owners atm , which you need a ps5 to even use this thing. and not every ps5 owner is going to get a vr headset either.
@Voltan Please can you give me the link for pre order for PSVR2? Tnx a lot...
@AngryChainsaw_ I subscribed for the newsletter or whatever - on the site linked in the article: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/ps-vr2/
Don't think you can do more than that right now.
Like I've said before the last gen of VR didn't recieve squat in the sense of support and a huge game library for what the system cost. And no other makers of a VR system did as well. I don't know the price but Metas new one coming is rumored at 800 and Sonys seems more quality over theirs, so it will probably be up there too. I have fun with the few games that I have that I like but in hindsight I would never have purchased it if I knew the game studios were going to dropout after the first year. And honestly looking at a tv screen is still a go to everytime. I'm just so disappointed in the market these days, they are always focused on the wrong things trying to expand into all niches only to spread things out and you still have no variety in genres or originality except in indies.
I'm usually an early adopter. But I just can't with this until I can confirm for myself that I don't get nauseous 😫😫😫
@eagletrippin What VR experiences and or games have you tried that made you nauseous? I know it can happen with anyone, but there are several reasons as to why it might be happening and or ways to mitigate it.
One, for instance, when I tried the PSVR at a local shop on demo trying to decide whether or not to buy it I had a bad experience. I ended up buying it anyway and after calibrating it to my eyes and head etc it was no longer blurry and a pleasure ergonomically. Made me realize the person fitting me had zero training and or understanding of the importance of this.
@MasterEMFG ones with a lot fast forward motions. Ones that immediately come to mind were DriveClub, GT Sport, and Ace Combat 7. I remember trying AC7, taking off from the runway, and it felt like my eyes rolled into back of my head, like if you ever seen those videos of people that get to be a passenger on an air force jet fighter, and the person's eyes roll into the back of their head and they pass out and lose consciousness — that's exactly how I felt 😂😭 Even slower moving games (like RE7, or Super Hyper Cube), I could only last about 15 minutes before taking the headset off. And this would lead to me having a ripping headache, feeling like I had a hangover, for the next 3 hours. Not fun. Eventually I had to sell it because I couldn't use it.
I calibrated the headset to the best of my knowledge, per the instructions provided by Sony. Things weren't blurry. I think I am just one of those unfortunate people that VR makes them nauseous.
But, I'm interested to see if this eye tracking (and FOVEA rendering?), along with haptic feedback in the headset can help the motion sickness in a significant way, enough for me to spend whatever the asking price will be PSVR2. But like I said, I will have to wait and see...
@Voltan Tnx dude, I'm just do tjid, but my country is not officially supported by the SONY PLAYSTATION, but I received PS4 camera adapter for the PS5 with my serial number of PSVR chip unit's. I don't know if this obligated Serbia, but we get PSVR first month at release as the PS4 PRO (I'm buyed thus console in my country at December 2018.). I hope that will answer on my interest to pre order the PSVR2 bundle set (or whatever SONY called the biggest PSVR2 set with adaptive controllers, some free games like was in PSVR (PSVR WORLD DEMO) and some additional stuff for maintenance PSVR2...
Another thanks a lot for this information...
If you wanna add me on PSN (specially if you like the MP games or CO OP games for PS5) asva close friend or as a friend... I will be glad to play with you and to meet you in the gaming...
