Post Void is a new PlayStation 5, PS4 game out this spring that wears the "git gud" meme on its sleeve. Pitched as a love letter to the shooters of old mixed with "some paint and tons of caffeine", it's an experience where you die if you stop moving. Quite literally. In one hand is your weapon, and in the other is an idol with your health inside. You refill the idol by increasing your kill count, so setting up kill streaks in quick succession is the name of the game here.

As Ryan Brown, marketing director at Super Rare Originals, explains on the PlayStation Blog, this one sounds like it's for the hardcore. "If you slow down for even a minute, it’s game over – no lives, no retries. Every run is different, thanks to procedurally generated levels, so to reach the oasis at the end of each level and retrieve a well-earned random upgrade, you’re truly going to have to… well, get good."

The game launches for PS5 and PS4 in the spring months of 2022, so it will be out sooner than you think. "There are no places to hide, or to stop and catch your breath, and one slip up can end your run. Runs are short, so death doesn’t sting for long – and you will die, again, and again, and again. Just jump straight back in and hone your skills."
