Yes, there’s a much better open world racer on the market right now, but for PlayStation players, sadly, The Crew 2 is the best it gets. And credit where credit is due: Ubisoft has continuously updated this game since its launch a couple of years ago, and fostered an impressively active community as a consequence. Seriously, boot this up and you’ll be surprised how many are playing today.

The release’s latest season, out now, is called The Contractor, and it focuses on delivery events all over the open world. As part of the release’s “movie” theme, you’ll be working for a fictional firm named Marco’s Cab Company – and yes, there’s a Ford Crown Victoria to drive, among others. It’s not just taxis, though: you’ll also be working for Diamond Limousine and The Rocket Company.

Unfortunately, as is always the case with The Crew 2, fan discussion is focused firmly on the game’s framerate. Despite fostering a huge community, and the release’s visuals holding up fairly well, developer Ivory Tower is yet to unlock the framerate for the PlayStation 5, meaning you’re still stuck at 30 frames-per-second if you play this game on next-gen hardware. A real shame.

A free weekend is planned between 18th November and 21st November, and your progress will transition across should you plump up for the full game. It might be worth a look if you have some spare time over the next few days.
