The PlayStation 5 version of Terminator: Resistance is being treated to a surprise expansion named Annihilation Line, arriving on 10th December 2021. It will not be available for PS4. This expansion is set during the events of the main game and follows Kyle Reese as he explores "the land beyond the Annihilation Line". Said to be around four hours long, the DLC contains a new story, more characters, and PS5 DualSense controller features.

"The Resistance has just defeated their first Infiltrator, but for Jacob Rivers, there’s no time to rest up," a press release reads. "Orders have come down from John Connor himself that he is to assist in the investigation of Northridge Outpost, a civilian settlement which has mysteriously gone silent."

It continues: "Why did no-one from Northridge attempt to radio in? Is this the work of Skynet? And are the civilians still alive? To find answers, Rivers and a small team of Resistance soldiers led by Connor’s right-hand man Kyle Reese, must head into the most dangerous territory imaginable...the land beyond the Annihilation Line."

There's no mention of a price, but the expansion will hit the PS Store on 10th December 2021. When we reviewed Terminator: Resistance Enhanced on PS5, we weren't particularly impressed with the current-gen upgrade. "Terminator: Resistance Enhanced is a decent looking PS3 game that’s 10 years too late. It adds little value to the disappointing original release, and will only please hardcore fans of the movies," is how we concluded a 4/10 review.

Again, this piece of DLC is only being made available for the PS5 version of the game. A free PS4 to PS5 upgrade is on offer for anyone who owns the original title and Sony's latest console, and then you'll need to buy the Annihilation Line expansion on top. Are you interested?
