While Disco Elysium: The Final Cut didn't launch in the best state on PlayStation hardware, you've got to commend developer ZA/UM for its commitment to fixing the isometric RPG as quickly as it possibly can. Hot on the heels of last week's update is patch 1.3, which is available to download right now on both PS5 and PS4. This latest one promises to fix "a myriad of bugs, soft locks, and interaction errors". The team is now already back to work on update 1.4, which we expect will also arrive in the near future.
The studio already outlined what patch 1.3 would do to Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, with fixes for many interaction prompts included. Kim's pathfinding is also said to be improved, save states should no longer bug out, and the update should finally allow affected users to interact with that blasted car and sandcastle. We will update this article should deputy editor Robert Ramsey confirm the bug has indeed been fixed in his own playthrough. Does update 1.3 finally fix a glitch you had been encountering in Disco Elysium: The Final Cut? Report back in the comments below.

Sounds good, I’ll see if there are any more small fixes. Like I said before, the last update sorted the ones I was getting so unless this introduces more bugs, I can crack on and finish the game now because I’m really quite close to the point of no return. Mental how different this playthrough is compared to my others!
Are saves in this game cross compatible. Like can I start on PS5 then continue on PS4 then go back to 5 etc?
Excellent turn around from ZAUM! Sandcastle and The Pigs are now fixed for me!
Edit: The Soona experiment is still broken for me
Have they fixed the frame rate issues yet?
@Ward_ting Oh wow, I literally just saved and quit last night right before interacting with The Pigs. Is that another softlock situation like Lilienne?
@nessisonett not come across Lilienne yet but yea, both The Pigs and Soona soft locked and The Pigs is now fixed but Soona is not.
I am now also having problems with my Journal and not being able to scroll through any of the tasks.
Just finishing off the free ratchet and clank game having never played it before. Disco elysium is next on the list, glad those progress making bugs appear to have been sorted, good timing for me
Good to see quick reactions from the devs with this.
Even if the fixes for them are relatively minor at least they are on with them.
Sounds like there are still some issues. I think I'll give it a little more time, maybe wait for the first decent discount. I've been waiting a while for this, so I can do a bit longer.
The patch has helped with interactions (I no longer have to press X twice on everything) but there are still frame rate hitches and the loading on PS5 is still annoying (3 or 5 seconds to get into each room/area).
I'm sure this game is excellent but come on, why is performance this bad especially on PS5. It's not that demanding graphically so that just comes down to poor optimization.
@Ward_ting That’s strange, I’ve completely finished Soona’s quest line. Which part softlocks?
@nessisonett as soon as she unmutes and the church starts vibrating it soft locks. Seems a common issue on Reddit and Twitter. I read that if you skip through all the dialogue very quickly it sorts it. I also read that having high +shivers and +inland empire sorts it, as does sleeping. So I tried all of the above and it actually got past it so I have no idea which of those things fixed it but I can proceed, hurrah! Also I can navigate the tasks again so not sure what happened there but it seems all good now!
What are the framerate drops like now after the patches?
@Ward_ting I actually thought the game had crashed too when it unmuted but it just took a while before the continue button appeared like normal!
@nessisonett unfortunately didn’t work for me at all. I left it for over 10 mins and it still did nothing.
Are they doing anything about the day 2 soft lock. After 9pm if you don’t have 20 real you actually need to load a old save? That is honestly pathetic game design
@Ward_ting Definitely a strange one. Good that they’ve been so quick with these patches though.
@nessisonett absolutely, I’m loving this so much!
How has this not been reviewed yet? Already on 2nd play through.... Ehh who cares this sites review scores are usually way off anyways.
In this case, the framerate questions seem a little moot. This game could operate at 2 frames a second for all the difference it would make.
