Publisher Aspyr has today unveiled its plans to bring another fondly remembered Star Wars title to the PlayStation 4. Star Wars: Republic Commando is the latest to join the lineup of classic Star Wars titles, joining the ranks alongside Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, and Episode I: Racer.
On April 6th, you'll be able to don the helmets of the elite Mandalorian Delta Squad, fighting your way through some of the biggest battles of the Clone Wars. The game was ahead of its time back in 2005, delivering tactical squad-based combat in an easily digestible formula. It should be interesting to see how this fares against some of the modern shooters that evolved from it. And you'll be able to experience it all again with a modernised control scheme on PS4.
The title's going to debut at $14.99, the same price as all of Aspyr's previous Star Wars ports, and we could not be more excited. These ports have been rousing successes, and getting to experience the golden age of Star Wars gaming is always a treat.
Are you excited to be Republic Commandos once more? Sound off in the comments section below.

Nice, I played this years ago, it's a good game. Interested in this if it's a good port
Awesome now if only we could get the original Star Wars arcade game, it probably doesn't hold up today but that would be pure nostalgia going on those Death Star bombing runs
I remember this being pretty good. Hope it didn't age too badly
I never got to this one, I have heard it is great, and I am in the middle of watching through the Clone Wars series with my kids.
All of this means I am in when this drops.
Cool, i will be buying this!
This is a great game! I’m just sad it’s not getting a remake with co-op. It would be perfect for that.
Also, it still has some of the best squad AI in gaming.
this was one of the better star wars games imo, would like to have seen it get much more of a remake treatment. shame it looks exactly like it did on my PC in 2005.
If I remember correctly, the ending of this game leads right into the episode 2 movie. And they were released closely together
@Hopewell The ending leads right into the battle of kashyyyk during the third film (Episode 3). Delta squad get a transmission right as Yoda arrives with the Republic fleet.
Sweet, now I don't need to track down a copy on Xbox. How soon will we see a limited run physical release for sale/scalp?
@RogerRoger Why are you crying though?!?! That was such a happy scene!
@jorel262 Not long after probably haha
Hurry up and bring KOTOR 1 and 2 port!
I shell be getting the Switch version as i have the other 3 on there so it makes sense to keep them all in one place. Overall very happy with them and i'm glad they are being released as i never got to play any of them originally.
Hmm games looks generic but it has so many good reviews, I'll probably pick it up during a bargain bin sale.
I'm a sucker for anything Star Wars related lol.
