Sony’s not talking about alternative DualSense colour schemes right now, but it plans to “at some point” in the near future. The platform holder intends to roll out its next-gen system later this year, and it’s promised that PS5 pre-orders will be telegraphed, rather than opened at a “moment’s notice”.

Speaking with Geoff Keighley as part of a recent Summer Games Fest livestream, Eric Lempel said: “Right now it’s a hard enough job to get the unit that we’ve showed out, but we’ll talk about it at some point.” Judging by the wide-eyed grin on the marketing man’s face, there’ll be lots of options for you to choose from post-release.

The DualSense’s two-tone colour scheme clearly lends itself well to a variety of different designs and options, so we’re looking forward to where the manufacturer takes this. Perhaps it’ll even allow us to design our own pads at some point, much like Microsoft allows with its Xbox Design Lab.
