After hearing the PC version of Death Stranding would be receiving a photo mode, existing fans of the Kojima Productions game were very vocal about the feature coming to PlayStation 4. It didn't take long for the studio to officially confirm the functionality would make it onto the PS4 version, and now, just a week later, it's here.
Photo mode is now available in Death Stranding on PS4 -- all you need to do is download the latest patch, version 1.12. The update is ready and waiting, and comes in at about 1GB. Kojima Productions confirmed on Twitter that this patch includes the fan-requested photo mode, so once Death Stranding is updated, you'll be able to take all the pictures you want of this bizarre and beautiful game.
Are you going to head back into the wilderness to take some snaps in Death Stranding? Say cheese in the comments below.

Little too late for me, I finished it last week and deleted it from my hard drive. Great looking game though, sure it will make for some good photos.
@BearsEatBeets
Are you crazy ? I prefer DISC if I were you. Since you downloaded it and you should keep it. Waste money to buy it then deleted it. Just saying.
Whats so important about Photo mode ? What is the purpose for it ?
@azoreseuropa ???? I brought the game, played the game, finished and platinumed the game. Not likely to play again so I've freed up the space for something else. I can reinstall anytime if I change my mind.
@azoreseuropa People like to take all sorts of photos from landscape to action, even comedic ones. If a game has a photo mode it allows people to take shots they wouldn't normally do in game.
This would have been useful 4 months ago
I'm happy we got it but its April tomorrow and the game came out in Nov and i finished it last month so yeah we should have got the Photo Mode either at launch or in Dec/Jan. Honestly i don't think they ever planned on adding one but due to demand they decided to add it to the PC version but then due to backlash they then added it to PS4. I shell check it out as i could do with a new laptop wallpaper but i could have done with this months ago when i was deep in the game. I'm grateful mind you but just annoyed at the timing.
@azoreseuropa It’s just good housekeeping to delete any single player games you’re not planning to replay within the next month. Your local storage has a value. Continuing to download patches for a game you’re not going to play is a waste of bandwidth.
@azoreseuropa Photography is a hobby of mine and i'm very good at it so being able to take photos of stuff i would never get the chance too in the real world is something i love doing in games, i have nearly a 1000 photos from AC Odyssey for instance and its the closest i will ever get to take photos of Ancient Greece.
@azoreseuropa it's in your library forever. I've got about 500 digital games, I delete them all when I'm done, they'll always be there when I want them again.
Now they just need to release a demo so I can try it out and possibly buy it
@oldschool1987 unless they decide to take it off their server then you don't have access to it anymore that they did with PT
@grahamd LOL! Worthless.
@oldschool1987 Cool!
@WallyWest Nice but its worthless for me, I guess.
@AdamNovice
I understand.
@potter32 I don't remember paying for PT???
But its still on my PS4 regardless.
Excellent. Now we just need the PS5 improvements.
