Madden NFL 20 PS4 PlayStation 4 1

Doesn’t feel like the gaming industry’s quite got back to full speed after the slow summer holidays yet, does it? But the release of Madden NFL 20 means that things are about to get moving again, and both August and September look like hectic months for the PlayStation 4 – certainly more so than July, anyway. That means this may be your last opportunity to clear out your backlog, so the age-old question remains: what are you playing?

I’ve been working my way through Madden NFL 20 these past few days, and while I’m still not quite ready to deliver my definitive verdict, I can confirm that this year’s game is pretty good.

I'm still in the mood for pixelated strategy, so I'll be hopping back into Wargroove this weekend. If I have time, I'll also carry on with Detroit: Become Human, which I've left hanging through most of July. Sorry, David Cage.

After finishing up Judgment, I've been bouncing between a couple of games in an effort to find something that'll grab me. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition bored me after an hour, and while The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel seemed interesting, I don't know how much time I'll invest in it. I think I'll just start Fire Emblem: Three Houses on my Nintendo Switch.

I enjoy the convenience of having my PlayStation Classic permanently hooked up, and recently I've been dipping my toes into the first couple of hours of games like Rayman and Resident Evil without relying on passwords, saves, or resume points. Similarly, I'll dabble in the opening hours of some more proper PSone classics.

This weekend I’ll be playing a lot of PlayStation VR: Tetris Effect, Beat Saber, and a few others. I’ll also be dipping into Fire Emblem a bit more as I’m hooked.

That's what we're playing this weekend, but what about you? You all know how this goes, so let us know in the comments section below.
