8. DiRT 4
Codemasters followed up the acclaimed DiRT Rally with a game that had its sights on a wider audience, and for the most part, it succeeded. DiRT 4 might lack the laser focus of its predecessor, but the exquisite rallying is present and correct, and plays fantastically whether you opt for sim-style handling or the more forgiving ‘Gamer’ mode. It also widens the scope beyond pure rally, and features Rallycross, more straightforward dirt racing in Landrush events, and more besides. The extra modes are good enough, but the A to B rally events easily steal the show.

7. F1 2019
F1 2019 continues the upward trend of Codemasters' excellent simulation series. This latest and greatest entry in the annual franchise sees the addition of F2 racing, as well as all the modes we've come to expect. Little improvements throughout the game make this the best Formula One title yet on PS4. If you're after this particular brand of vehicular action, F1 2019 is the game of choice.
EA's first foray into remasters sees the triumphant return of one of the arcade racing kings. Burnout Paradise was ahead of its time on PS3 in many ways, and this remaster proves that; its updated visuals look good, the open world racing is as slick and speedy as ever, and the innovative online features are still better than most. With all the DLC included and an addictive array of events and collectibles, this 10-year-old racer will keep you strapped to your seat for hours on end.
The granddaddy of anti-gravity racing made a triumphant return to PlayStation in 2017 with a gorgeous remaster that brought together content from WipEout HD, Fury, and 2048. The fast and fluid racer plays beautifully, looks gorgeous, and runs like a shiny, metal dream. The recently added VR support is incredibly well implemented too, making this an even better package for PSVR owners. While we’d have preferred an all new entry in the franchise, this serves as a great reminder of why WipEout is so beloved by fans.
