Team Sonic Racing is shaping up fairly well, with interesting team-based mechanics injected into traditional kart racing goodness. One of the bigger question marks over the title is its roster of characters -- without SEGA's other properties to flesh it out, this game's lineup consists purely of Sonic's friends and foes, which isn't necessarily a good thing. Just announced are the below three characters: Silver the Hedgehog, Blaze the Cat, and Vector the Crocodile.
Just in case you're unsure of who these are, Silver hails from the infamously terrible Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Blaze initially starred in the Sonic Rush series, and Vector's first gig was all the way back in the SEGA 32X game, Knuckles' Chaotix. Together, they make up Team Vector in Sumo Digital's upcoming racer.
Are you excited to see these three in Team Sonic Racing? Drift into the comments below.

Gosh this game looks dull. Bring back Transformed.
Hoping for a great Mario Kart-like experience on the PS4, and that this looks a bit more dull than Transformed doesn't have to be a bad thing, if it actually generates more momentum and tension in the split screen department.
Still, I'd rather get my hopes up for GRIP. Just played Trailblazers splitscreen yesterday. Really wanted to like that, but it's such a dissapointment.
Why isnt Vector with Espio and Charmy?
And I mean, I'd rather have B-list Sonic friends than B-list SEGA franchises.
At least the Sonic friends still show up.
@Scarbir Trailblazers has some cool ideas but it isn't executed very well.
I think this has potential but I feel like most will end up just wishing they were playing Transformed instead. We shall see
Nah, B-list SEGA franchises all night long.
@Quintumply Exactly, and the execution of TrailBlazers is also poor on some very important points. For example: no random track mode in split screen, no cup mode, vague scoring system without implementation while playing (so the score comes out of nowhere after the race) and on top of that, the AI is already too hard on Easy mode.
Odd that they didn't put in Charmy and Espio, but Blaze and Silver are nice to have as well.
Silver, honesty I think this character is not even needed.
They have made a big mistake focussing on sonic characters for this. The sega fan service offered by the previous title was what encouraged me to buy it. But i just cant get excited for this at the moment. A real shame
Maybe Espio & Charmy will be with Mighty for Team Chaotix?
Anyhoo - it won't be as good as Transformed. So long as some of the features shown off so far don't feel like too much rubber-banding, it is at least almost guaranteed to handle really well.
Between this and Grip - should be good for wheeled racing!
why is Vector with Silver and Blaze, he was already on a team with Espio and Charmy so why did they need to change that
it looks like they are having trouble filling up team slots, they should have kept in the other SEGA franchises
After the (dare I say) greatest kart racer in All Stars Transformed this is such a back step
Oh, for crying out... Silver and Blaze, two of my favourite characters, and I'm forced to drag them down with VECTOR?! Urgh.
Incredibly amazed that Silver and Blaze made the initial cut. I fully expected them as DLC, if at all.
VectorMAN or no buy
How dare you call Silver the Hedgehog B-list? I've spent the last 12 years writing awful fan fiction about him.
Vector is the Tim Westwood of the Sonic universe.
Holding out for Storm the Albatross 🤞🏻
