Vampyr, the action role-playing game in development at DontNod, has been delayed. Originally due to launch on PlayStation 4 this November, publisher Focus Home Interactive has confirmed that the title is now set to release in early 2018.
We've seen relatively little of Vampyr over the last few months, and without a concrete date, a delay was starting to seem more and more likely. "This delay allows us enough time for all the polishing and balancing phase, much needed for a game of Vampyr's scope, with its ambitious, semi-open world, its complex narrative and deep RPG mechanics that give players a real impact on the world," a statement from the developer reads.

Well that's good to hear. We haven't had a lot of delayed game news lately, I was beginning to think I was living in a dream or the Matrix. This and Switch Minecraft shows me it's ok, it's real.
The more time, the better. I really want this one to be good.
@b1ackjack_ps I always think there's too much to play in the second half of the year, then publishers delay pretty much everything to the first half of the next year, and I spent the second half of the year catching up on games I missed during the first half
Not terribly surprised but it better shoot for the middle of February since Monster Hunter is going to take Jan and most likely God of War will show up in the normal end or March/beginning of April Playstation exclusive time.
Box art looks awful by the way...
@Octane It's a disgrace that the main character's ended up looking so generic.
@ShogunRok ''Let's make him edgy and cool, like those million other generic main characters, that'll sell the game!''
Muchly looking forward to this 👍
@ShogunRok Firstly, I don't know a lot of people who look like him, but secondly, he's a doctor. Not sure what you're looking for. But I really don't care much, tbh, as long as the game plays well.
A delay was much needed based on what we saw most recently; very happy to see this.
Really looking forward to this game.... fingers crossed
@doctommaso That creepy look he had in the original promotional material is way more interesting. Now he has a stylish short back and sides haircut — arguably the most popular haircut among younger men right now (in the UK at least) — and a nicely trimmed full beard.
He's like Dracula done by BBC drama.
@ShogunRok lol nice. I don't think I saw his initial design. To me, he pretty much looks like a person who could pass as a doctor, which is his profession in the game. Like I said, it's not a big deal imo.
Surprise, surprise.
And one of the few games i was looking forward too.
