The Hunger Games

There's no sign of the new releases slowing down after 2017 has started like a rocket. We've got several members of our team beavering away on big new games, while dozens more lurk menacingly around the corner. Of course, this isn't a time to look ahead, it's a time for reflection, so we ask that popular question again: what are you playing this weekend?

I'm still playing a game I can't talk about and I really wished I could. All will be revealed soon, though.

Over the weekend, I'll be aiming to make my opponents a little bit shorter as I chop heads off left, right, and centre while playing For Honor. I'll also be trying to get familiar with the raft of changes made to Smite with the release of the Season 4 patch on consoles this week.

With Persona 5 having gotten pushed back a while ago now, the year hasn't really started for games I personally really want. But with Night in the Woods next week and Horizon: Zero Dawn the week after, things are about to get going. In the meantime, I'll probably try and keep myself occupied with NHL 16 and Rainbow Six Siege. Last week I said the worst seemed to be behind Siege as far as server woes and I was grossly mistaken, but hopefully this week?

I've got the bug. I made the mistake (maybe?) of buying Nioh, and I can't stop. Sometimes I feel like I'm teetering on the edge of sanity when I play it, and other times it's pure joy. Either way, Nioh's getting all my attention this weekend, and I can't wait.

This weekend, I will not rest until I've got the Platinum Trophy in Final Fantasy XV. I've got four trophies to go, not including the Platinum itself; two of which include maxing out the fishing skill (without a doubt my least favourite part of the whole game) and beating the Adamantoise. I foresee a few necessary breaks to prevent me putting my fist through the TV screen (I swear, if Gladio slags off my fishing one more time), so in those moments I'll be hitting up Danganronpa: Ultra Despair Girls on my Vita to relieve some frustration on Monokuma.

After finishing Resident Evil 7, I just couldn't resist latching onto the Season Pass. I just finished Banned Footage Vol. 1 and will be looking over the follow-up this weekend. If it happens to be equally entertaining (albeit short), you can colour me pleasantly surprised. Other than this, I think I'll be wading a bit in Overwatch and Modern Warfare Remastered's multiplayer.

This weekend I'll be enjoying the sights of rural Louisiana in Resident Evil 7, a game that has kindly gifted me a pair of brown trousers. In between fits of screaming and crying, I'll be continuing my attempt to 100 per cent Hitman, repeatedly playing the Sapienza level until I cannot bear to see the beautiful Italian seaside anymore.

It's more For Honor for me this weekend as this game seriously has me hooked. Also, I'll be throwing in some LEGO Dimensions with my son as we got a few new sets this week.

We're all chatted out now, so it's over to you valued readers. What are you playing this weekend? Y'know the drill by now: let us know in the comments section below.
