Gabbing on

Wow, are we really up to Issue 90 already? It only feels like yesterday that we quietly robbed this feature idea from our friends over at Nintendo Life, and it's gone from strength to strength since then. A stat: since Issue One was published on 2nd March 2013 there have been over 4,500 comments on these articles – that's comparable to your average IGN forum thread.

I'll be finishing up Life Is Strange this weekend. It's been torture waiting to play the concluding episode, but the moment has finally arrived – the End of the World awaits.

There's a mushroom cloud on the horizon, which means I'm scrambling to finish off approximately every game in existence before the wasteland consumes me. Indeed, I'm finding it difficult to cope with the fact Fallout 4 is less than a month away.

Everyday's great at your Junes! I got around to starting Persona 4: Dancing All Night this week, which means my weekend is dedicated to Platinuming the joyful little beggar. I'll also be wrapping up Tales from the Borderlands' final chapter, meaning it's going to be a double-Platinum weekend for me. So alone.

It's been a while, but I'm getting back into the swing of things! I'll be playing Super Meat Boy over the weekend, between bits of work. Bleh.

I'm starting to fall way behind on my current releases, so after I finish the season finale of Tales from the Borderlands, I'm definitely going to carve out some time for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. I also still have a Witcher 3 expansion to play, and I want to get some Rock Band in, too.

I'm playing a 1996 PSone 2.5D platforming game where I control a jester called Fargus, who's hoping to find a new career at a Wizards in Training seminar. It has levels set in a Skull Fortress, Fungus Grotto, and green cauldron-like Acid Pools, so I'm sure I can magic up some suitable references for when I review it on the Hallowe'en weekend.

I'm still trucking through Alien: Isolation and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. However, in between avoiding the incredibly smart yet infuriating Xenomorph and worrying about the oil supply in my lamp every minute, I think I'll check out Everybody's Gone to the Rapture as well. I'm more than ready to envelop myself in this mysterious, beautiful-looking adventure title.

Despite a busy weekend ahead, any free time will be put towards getting the Platinum Trophy in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. I'm also looking to continue some Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell.

I'll be getting my friends around and playing the Street Fighter V beta in order to see what's changed in my second-favourite fighting franchise, before switching out to Guitar Hero Live. It's been a little hard adapting to the new controller, but I'm thoroughly enjoying the set list.

After having the week off work, my backlog of games has been reduced to nothing, after completing the Uncharted collection, Life is Strange and Tales from the Borderlands. This weekend I will be street fighting (in the Street Fighter V beta) the urge to buy any more games in the wait up until the launch of the big titles next month.

Now that I am home this weekend I will be checking out some of my purchases I made last weekend at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo. First up will be Mega Man: The Wily Wars on SEGA Genesis, which is yet another remake of Mega Man 1-3, but you know me and Mega Man games. After that I plan on checking out Secret of Mana 2 on the SNES which is an English translation of Seiken Densetsu 3. So I guess that this weekend will be a 16-bit weekend for me.

A lot of chatter from the team this week, then – but this article ain't done yet. What are you playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.
