Sony wasn't ready to announce Vote to Play, as today's rudimentary PlayStation Blog post on the addition displays. Still, it couldn't exactly shy away from the reveal after our report yesterday, so it's shed a little more light on how things will work. For those out of the loop, the forthcoming feature promises to let you pick future PlayStation Plus giveaways, with the overall winner securing a place in the Instant Game Collection. But you won't be able to select every time.
"To be clear, Vote to Play will not be a monthly feature, but will take place at regular intervals throughout the year," said SCEE's Chris Howe. "We love to listen to our members β and we're really excited to launch this new exclusive feature. We'll have more details for you soon on when voting begins, what titles will be up for voting, and how you can cast your vote."
We've heard from a couple of different sources that the teased lineup of Grow Home, Zombie Vikings, and Armello is accurate β but obviously this information is subject to change. The really good news is that even if your favourite title doesn't win, the two "losers" will still receive PlayStation Plus discounts when they release β although the platform holder does stress that this will only apply during the "first promotion". In other words, it may not be a recurring thing.
Either way, we reckon that this is a pretty darn nifty feature, which is going to create even more positive PR for the PS4 as developers vie for your votes. Of course, it all depends on how frequently it's actually used and how smooth the polling process turns out to be. What are your thoughts on Vote to Play? They really need to fix their sh*t cause what they are using now to choose the games isn't working... We're going on 3 years into the life of the PS4 the library is bigger than expected... Is it that hard to give us a AAA game along with one indie game. There is a reason why the #betterPSN started along with the crappy network... I love my PS4 but since launch I along with alot of people don't find the PS+ games that they give us any good... I think out of the 30 months we have received games close to only 10 games are worth it... Honestly there are ton of games that they could use.... Lords of the Fallen, Metro 2033, Metro Last Light, Far Cry 4, Middle Earth: Shadows of Mordor, Tetris Ultimate, Sniper Elite 3, Watch_Dogs, Black Flag, Angry Birds, and Need For Speed Rivals... I named those games cause of their install size... But those are 11 games they could give us. It doesn't have to be every month maybe every other month a AAA title... Cmon Sony pull it together dude you're beating the x1 by 10+ million in sales, stop playing it safe and go for the jugular!!

@ruckus757 Watch the cursing, please.
That's kinda a let down. I really liked the "two losers will receive PS+ discounts" part and was looking forward to that. I know it's still going to happen but every month would have been nice.
@get2sammyb my bad didn't mean to just went with the flow...
@ruckus757 Osiris instead of tomb raider was a funny kick in the teeth
I happen to like a lot of the indies so far even if it is a case of the nostalgia bug biting every time. Hopefully they mix it up though some times offering AAA titles and other times offering quality indie titles and I'm good
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi yeah it was idk what they are thinking
Voting on the 'What's New" section, the part of PSN that is probably most stable of em all
I have a lot of concerns about this because most of the time people don't know what they want half the time. And we can potentially miss out on some cool hidden gems, if Rocket League was in the voting I bet it would miss out because too many ignorant people will get hung up on "Oh I don't like racing games, or sports games" to vote for it.
Plus it takes away the fun of not knowing what your going to get, it's kinda like a virtual loot crate.
@adf86 We'll do features explaining what the games are so hopefully we can educate some, but I know exactly what you mean!
Is this a good idea? Lets take a vote..
@ruckus757 I agree

"We're going on 3 years into the life of the PS4"
Er, it came out in November 2013.
"out of the 30 months we have received game"
It's been out 20 months. Less than 2 years.
@electrolite77 going on 3 years meaning by the time it gets to November it will be just turning 3 years old not 2 years... Battlefield 4 came out launch year, Destiny came out this past year, and in November we have Fallout. Ok got the months wrong my bad geeze the only take away from my whole comment was that I got the months wrong
Still I don't get the hate people spew towards PS+. It's free games, I NEVER expect it to be any AAA titles. Im happy with the Service, xbox live users paid for the service for years without getting anything for free. And spare me the "their service is better" balooza. Yeah maybe it was back in the day but nowadays I'm pretty happy with PSN, when it's out and down I suspect it's due to another DDOS attack which is out of Sony's hand. And yes live is down here and there as well.
Still. Im happy with whats on offer and don't like all the negativity.
@ruckus757 dude work on your math skills. Nov 2013 to Nov 2014 (1 year). Nov 2014 to Nov 2015 (2 years).
@Markus4218 dude why do you think I said "going onto its 3rd year" when November 16th comes around it will be on its 3rd year...
@ruckus757 Preach, brother!
