PlayStation 4 PS4 Vote To Play Sony Plus

Sony wasn't ready to announce Vote to Play, as today's rudimentary PlayStation Blog post on the addition displays. Still, it couldn't exactly shy away from the reveal after our report yesterday, so it's shed a little more light on how things will work. For those out of the loop, the forthcoming feature promises to let you pick future PlayStation Plus giveaways, with the overall winner securing a place in the Instant Game Collection. But you won't be able to select every time.

"To be clear, Vote to Play will not be a monthly feature, but will take place at regular intervals throughout the year," said SCEE's Chris Howe. "We love to listen to our members – and we're really excited to launch this new exclusive feature. We'll have more details for you soon on when voting begins, what titles will be up for voting, and how you can cast your vote."

We've heard from a couple of different sources that the teased lineup of Grow Home, Zombie Vikings, and Armello is accurate – but obviously this information is subject to change. The really good news is that even if your favourite title doesn't win, the two "losers" will still receive PlayStation Plus discounts when they release – although the platform holder does stress that this will only apply during the "first promotion". In other words, it may not be a recurring thing.

Either way, we reckon that this is a pretty darn nifty feature, which is going to create even more positive PR for the PS4 as developers vie for your votes. Of course, it all depends on how frequently it's actually used and how smooth the polling process turns out to be. What are your thoughts on Vote to Play?
