By the Nine

In one of the most memorable moments from Sony's phenomenal E3 press conference last year, Adam Boyes took to the stage and demonstrated the Japanese giant's commitment to indie developers by showcasing nine titles for the PlayStation 4 and Vita. And now, on the eve of E3 2014, the platform holder has released a short video which catches up with some of those studios.

All of the featured developers emphatically state that taking part in last year's showcase has significantly improved their prospects. But apart from the praise for the company's more open and welcoming approach, the interviewees also discuss how easy the PS4 has been to develop for. In particular, Jake Kazadal – the creative lead at 17-BIT – notes that his team managed to get strategic shooter Galak-Z running smoothly on the console within one day, which is an impressive feat by any standard.

Would you like Sony to continue its commitment to helping out the little guy, or is AAA the only way to go? Do you think that we have a slew of indies waiting for us next week? Self publish in the comments section below.
