Minecraft

Sony announced all the way back at GamesCom that Minecraft would deploy on the PlayStation 4 within the system’s launch window, but that’s looking somewhat unlikely at this point in time. 4J Studios, the British-based developer responsible for porting the release, has confirmed that it’s currently starting to test the PlayStation 3 version of the indie smash hit, with other platforms to follow later.

Asked whether the game would be ready for the Japanese giant’s next generation system in time for launch, the studio unsurprisingly responded that it wouldn't. It also added that it doesn’t have a release date in mind for the company's current console, meaning that you could be waiting a while yet for any Minecraft action on a PlayStation machine. It’s a shame that this is seemingly further away than we expected, but as we’ve been reminded all year long, greatness awaits.
