Armed and ready

Valve’s downloadable multiplayer shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has stormed straight to the top of the PlayStation Network sales charts in North America. The title – which launched at the end of August – fought off strong competition from fellow PSN Play promoted titles Sound Shapes and Papo & Yo.

Telltale’s stellar The Walking Dead series continued to prove its popularity, with Episode 3 landing a spot in second position. Meanwhile, the digital version of Madden NFL 13 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD rounded out the top five.

On Vita, the aforementioned Sound Shapes was the top selling game, followed by the sturdy Table Top Tanks and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Elsewhere, War of the Monsters topped the PS2 Classics list, while Final Fantasy VII reclaimed its status as the most popular PSone re-release. Will people ever get tired of Cloud Strife and company?
