Stitched up

We’re not sure anyone expected a Naughty Bear sequel, but considering the promise of the original game, we’re secretly glad that Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise exists. The digital download’s aiming to “deliver a dramatically enhanced experience”, and judging from the tweaks featured in this brand new trailer – it just might succeed.

For starters, the visuals have been completely overhauled. The sequel boasts much larger environments than its predecessor, with a smoother framerate to boot. It can also host more bears on screen at once, which is where Naughty’s new combo system comes in handy. The eponymous antihero can now string together multiple attacks, issuing massive damage to the unfortunate inhabitants of Paradise Island.

However, the most important improvement is the introduction of the grab mechanic. This means that you can now sneak up on unassuming bears, and drag them towards deadly apparatus. Not having to wait for the cuddly toys to repair the objects promises to significantly enhance the flow of the game.

You can witness the slew of changes courtesy of the trailer below. Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise is due out on PSN in October.
