If you were worried that you weren’t going to be able to see Jessica Ennis’ incredible... Er, gold medal winning performances in high-definition, then your prayers have been answered. Sony has announced that the beta version of the BBC Sports App currently available for PS3 has been upgraded to support high-definition output, meaning you’ll be able to watch every minute of the upcoming Olympic Games in blistering quality. It’ll be like you’re in London for real, just minus the irritating tourists and terrible public transport.
Just in case you haven’t grabbed the application yet, it can be found under the “My Channels” section of the XMB. Obviously, it’s exclusive to the UK, so don’t go hunting for the download if you’re in North America. Duh.

I am very jealous of this. This is a fantastic deal for ya'll. We can't even get an espn app over here, and even that wouldn't help us with the olympics.
@Squiggle55 I'm curious — what channel/network are the Olympics shown on in USA?
It's NBC. Some of it will be on NBC which we'll be able to pick up with a simple antennae, but the rest of it will be on NBC Sports, which is a cable channel we don't get.
The app is pretty dire to be honest. HD upgrade is welcome, as it looked horrible before. Also, it's horrible to navigate. I don't quite understand why they didn't just re-skin the iPlayer app in it's entirety rather than put out this mess- seriously, try finding a full F1 programme . . .
@KALofKRYPTON I think it's fine for the live stuff. I watched a ton of the Wimbledon coverage with this app and never really had an issue with it.
