Looks good, doesn't it?

Retro City Rampage developer Brian Provinciano refuses to charge less than what he feels his game is worth. In an interview with PocketNext, the indie developer took a dig at the “race to the bottom” pricing model that is sweeping iOS platforms, explaining that his title is worth every penny of the $15 he intends to sell it for:

There are so many devices out there, and you can reach a huge market; it's unimaginable on other platforms. Unfortunately, with that comes the downside of a race to the bottom: the 99 cents app problem. The race to the bottom is a terrible, terrible thing.

Provinciano continued that he feels Retro City Rampage is bigger than games such as Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, and thus justifies its price point:

With Retro City Rampage, I felt very strongly that it was a $15 game, and that's what I'm charging. In fact, it's bigger than Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, and that launched at $40. And I've questioned, do I have to launch it at $15 because of the 'race to the base?' And I've tossed [and turned] about that, but no. It's a $15 game, at least.

Retro City Rampage is due out on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in May. Who’s looking forward to it?
