We’re hopelessly excited for Binary Domain, we really are. But the online component’s pretty meaningless to us, and this trailer affirms our ambivalence. Sure the gun-play looks solid, the maps look cool and the game modes seem interesting; but is anyone really going to choose to play Binary Domain over Call of Duty or Battlefield? The whole mode feels like it was borne out of committee to us.
Worryingly, the most interesting thing we have to say about Binary Domain’s multiplayer is that Yakuza’s Kazuma Kiryu cameos as a playable character. That’s pretty rad, we guess.

Does look rather average at best. I hope the single player is good enough to sell the game alone, it looks promising.
