Who says smaller can't be better?

Yesterday we brought you news that a new MotorStorm title was screeching its way onto Vita and today we’ve got the scoop on what we’ll be seeing in this exciting new entry to the series. Where the latest instalment in the series, MotorStorm: Apocalypse went bigger than ever, MotorStorm RC does the exact opposite and makes the series smaller than ever – radio-controlled off road action small.

Check out the fantastic mini-MotorStorm action below:

Releasing on both the PS Vita and PSN, the game will host multiple cross-platform features and the best part about it is that a single purchase of the title obtains both versions of the game. The two are identical, with the exception that the PS3 version will include four-player split screen races. A new system has been implemented that’s similar to EA’s Autolog, called Pitwall, which live updates in-game challenges (e.g. lap times, track times) to keep the pressure on as you take on the treacherous courses. Transfarring – as Hideo Kojima called it – will allow the game to be played in the comfort of your home and then resumed on the go with Vita.

Being developed by a small elite team within the series developer Evolution Studios, the game is preloaded with 16 tracks based off four of the environments from previous games. While these tracks may look familiar, they’re actually completely new tracks that have been redesigned to fit the new isometric camera angle and gameplay style. Also, eight of the racing categories are featured in the game as well: buggies, superminis, rally cars, muscle cars, racing trucks, supercars, big rigs and monster trucks.

While no mention of competitive multiplayer racing has yet come to light, we’ve got no doubt that further details will soon emerge as Vita’s launch nears. MotorStorm RC is looking to turn up the horsepower inside your Vita in 2012 and any news on this exciting upcoming title can be found right here at VitaGamr as soon as it comes crashing through.
