How do you change gear appearance and hide items in Hogwarts Legacy? Known to some as Transmog, the game allows you to equip the stats of one item, but have it look like another. This allows you to have both the best character in general, as well as the best dressed. In addition, you can hide clothing completely but still have it equipped for the stats boost. As part of our Hogwarts Legacy guide, we're going to reveal how to change gear appearance and hide items.
Hogwarts Legacy: How to Change Gear Appearance
Gear items can be equipped on the Gear screen in the pause menu, accessed by scrolling all the way to the left with the L1 button. From here, you can equip new pieces of clothing that come with stat boosts and Traits. If you want to keep the better stats of an item, but wish to change its look to something else in the game, hover over the item and press Square to Change Appearance. On the next screen, you can select what you'd like the item to look like, either by picking a different appearance from your Collections or elsewhere in the game.
Hogwarts Legacy: How to Hide Items
If you want to Hide Items completely from your character but keep their stats, once again hover over the piece of clothing you don't want to see and press Square for Change Appearance. This time, take a look in the Collections tab and select the first option you see, labelled Invisible and then the name of the clothing item. Selecting this will make the item disappear completely, but you'll keep the stats increase.
