5. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS5)

One of the best Star Wars games in recent memory is Jedi: Fallen Order, and it's even better with its PS5 iteration. The action title charts the adventures of Cal Kestis, a character who undergoes secret Jedi training amid the Empire's crackdown. With a motley crew, you journey to various known and new worlds, engaging in simple environmental puzzles and intense melee combat. On PS5, the game benefits from improved framerate and higher resolution, giving you the best picture possible while cutting through Stormtroopers with your customised lightsaber.

4. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (PS5)

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the direct sequel to Fallen Order, and it's a bigger and better game in every way. It builds upon the previous title's successes — engaging lightsaber combat, semi-linear environment design — while improving on areas that needed attention. The story takes some major steps forward, protagonist Cal's character is developed meaningfully, and his supporting cast is far more interesting overall. Throw on top a hub area that gradually changes over time, oodles of optional content, and one or two awesome set pieces, and you have a truly great game, whether you're into Star Wars or not.

3. Split Fiction (PS5)

Following up the beloved It Takes Two, Split Fiction is another co-op action adventure in much the same vein, but it's a big step up. Featuring simple and smooth controls at its core, this game focuses on two aspiring writers who get stuck in a simulation of their own stories, resulting in a wildly varied quest through sci-fi and fantasy worlds. The pace at which it presents you with new ideas, breathless set-pieces, and ingenious co-op moments is unparalleled, culminating in a finale that's unlike anything we've seen before in a game. This is arguably the best co-op experience on PS5, and it's one of 2025's top titles full stop.

2. It Takes Two (PS5)

When you think of co-op games, one should spring to mind immediately: It Takes Two. This action adventure is from the makers of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Way Out, and sees you and a partner take on the role of an estranged couple. Turned into dolls by their daughter's tears, you and a friend must go on a wildly imaginative, endlessly varied, adventure to return to normal. Constantly presenting you with new puzzles and ideas, each as good as the last, you'll never grow weary of this brilliant game, playable locally or online.

1. Dead Space (PS5)

One of EA's best-loved games returns with this PS5 remake of Dead Space. Retelling the original story of Isaac Clarke exploring the decimated corridors of the USG Ishimura, this updated version is more than just a fresh coat of paint. On top of modern visuals, the remake turns the ship into one interconnected environment, expands many areas, adds voice acting for Isaac, and more. Aside from all that, this is the same great Dead Space you remember — intense atmosphere, unique enemies and weapons, and a memorable story.
