40. The Nioh Collection (PS5)
Team Ninja's answer to the popular Dark Souls series is Nioh, a punishing but satisfying action RPG based on Japanese history and folklore. The Nioh Collection on PS5 brings the two titles together in one package. Fortunately, both games are excellent — fairly linear but featuring fast, deadly melee combat that has you swapping between stances to gain the upper hand. The pair of games are remastered for the up-to-date hardware, running at up to 120 frames-per-second on the right display, and support DualSense's haptics and adaptive triggers. Two cracking action titles for the price of one, and looking and playing better than ever on PS5? A no-brainer.
39. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (PS5)
A superhero game from Square Enix is enough for hardcore PlayStation players to proceed with caution after Marvel's Avengers, but developer Eidos Montreal has done Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy proud with a faithful, funny, and thoroughly enjoyable campaign based on original storytelling. It's a meaty one too, lasting north of 20 hours. The characters of Drax, Groot, Rocket, and Gamora are just as you remember them from the Marvel movies, and even Star-Lord performs valiantly despite the lack of a Chris Pratt face scan. Combat is deep and engaging, exploration is limited but fun, and dialogue is top-notch.
38. The Last of Us Part II Remastered (PS5)
Arguably the greatest PS4 game, upgraded and repacked for PS5, with cut content and an all-new roguelike inspired mode, which takes full advantage of Naughty Dog’s underappreciated third-person shooter gameplay. The Last of Us Part II Remastered will hold few surprises for those who’ve already played the original, groundbreaking outing – but that doesn’t make it any less essential.
36. Grand Theft Auto V (PS5)
In its third generation, GTA 5’s unwavering commercial popularity looks unlikely to ease. Presented for the first time on consoles in 4K at 60fps, this is undoubtedly the best-looking version of Los Santos to date. While elements of the graphics and gameplay are beginning to show their age, this open world is largely unmatched, and despite GTA Online having some serious onboarding issues, its continued expansion makes it an unparalleled multiplayer mode with an identity all of its own.
35. Hollow Knight: Silksong (PS5)
Hollow Knight: Silksong may have taken a long time to materialise, but it's been well worth the wait. It's another brilliant Metroidvania action game with tight, challenging combat and a fantastic sense of exploration. While its level of difficulty may be off-putting for some, it rewards patient players with a vast map full of secrets, lots of endearing characters to meet, and plenty of abilities and techniques to toy with.
34. Stellar Blade (PS5)
Console debuts simply don’t get much stronger than Stellar Blade, a throwback combat-centric adventure that channels retro PS2 energy in all the best ways. This sturdy single player campaign has a strong visual identity, a stunning soundtrack, and some outstanding art direction. It’s also bursting with unlockable, off-the-beaten-path content, like a bunch of outfits and accessories you can unlock.
33. Vampire Survivors (PS5)
Probably one of the most moreish games on the market, Vampire Survivors is a fascinatingly fun roguelite. With attacks firing off automatically, all you have to do is avoid enemies and survive each 30-minute round, gathering XP and leveling up your abilities as you go. While it doesn't look like much in static screens, it'll surprise you just how chaotic things can get, and building your character to become a literally unstoppable force is satisfying every time. The sheer amount of unlocks and secrets to discover means practically every run gets you something, too. We can't recommend this one enough, but be warned — you might never play anything else again.
32. The Last of Us Part I (PS5)
Forever tainted by its high launch price, The Last of Us: Part I is a faithful remake of Naughty Dog's 2013 masterpiece that brings the post-apocalyptic adventure up to modern standards. While the gameplay is largely untouched, its visuals shine with stunning character models, gorgeous backdrops, and an abundance of detail to ensure there's something to look at in every corner. Some will forever question why it was needed, but The Last of Us: Part I has never looked better.
31. Hitman 3 (PS5)
The culmination of a generation of effort from the highly talented Danish developer IO Interactive, Hitman 3 is not only a sensational stealth game on its own – but it also compiles all of the locations from the World of Assassin trilogy, bringing them under one umbrella for near limitless espionage. The series blends large, intricately designed sandbox stages with clockwork-like gameplay, which is open to manipulation in any way you see fit. Your objective in each mission is to murder your marks without being spotted – and how you go about it is entirely up to you. A truly unique and flawlessly designed experience.

Ghost of tsushima is definitely number one.word up son
Quick reminder that these lists are decided by user ratings, so make sure you have your say!
Damn. Top 10 is mostly sony games.
Shocked that TLoU2 isn’t there (unless I missed it). But also kinda not surprised either. It’s not even on the horror list.
I thought Miles Morales was way better than the original Spider-man game. Spider-man game was still very good though.
Loads of great games for the PS5 already. Ghost of Tsushima is one of the best games ever. Definitely deserves its spot as number 1.
@BritneyfR_ee but TLoU2 doesn't have PS5 version. Maybe they'll release one in the future.
@Nexozi does it really not? TIL…
Wait, what defines a game being ‘on PS5’? Having a PS5 box (physical) or a banner on the store (digital)?
I’ve just started replaying Immortals Fenyx Rising on the PS5 (free upgrade from PS4 disc) and it doesn’t seem any different from the PS4 version… but would technically be classed as a ‘PS5’ release?
@BritneyfR_ee I would class PS5 releases or versions to be being on PS5. Since they have improvements that arent available on the PS4. So they will be ones that take advantage of the SSD and have haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support. Doesn't matter if you buy the physical or digital version of the game. Immortals on PS5 supports these features, that makes it a PS5 game. Playing a PS4 game on the PS5 doesn't class it as PS5 game.
There's a remake coming for the last of us on the PS5 and rumours of a directors cut for 2. So that could be the PS5 version. With additional content like what they did with Ghost of Tsushima.
@RevGaming I mean, we're on a PlayStation site...
@clvr you think they are biased?
If that's the case, let me remind you that from 2003-2020, Sony has won 1541 goty awards, followed by Take Two with 657 and Nintendo with 596, so this shouldn't be a surprise. It's a graph I found based on gotyblogspot site that tracks almost all awards.
So I'm not surprised a lot of them are there, but was surprised that basically all of them were in the top 10.
@RevGaming again, it's a ranking determined by the readers of a PlayStation site, so of course it's gonna skew more towards popular games and PS exclusives.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just not that surprising in my opinion.
@clvr Maybe, but they're great games so I wouldn't be surprise someone has 5-7 in his personal top 10 games from last gen or ps5 games. Non playstation centric critics did put them on a pedestal too.
Days Gone is under appreciated. Definitely a contender for the top ten list. I love that game as much as Ghost of Tsushima.
@LonewolfSTK it’s not got a ps5 version though this is ps5 versions not games playable on a ps5
Uncharted 1-4 nuff said lol
Days gone should be in the top 5bin my personal opinion but it’s a good list!
Think we need to redifine the term action with many of these entries on here....Also top of the list is way too biased but I'm not suprised.
My choice, Kao the Kangaroo since it was my first PS5 game.

No Risk of Rain 2?
Ugh a list with 50 games...
