Topic: What Games Were You Playing Ten Years Ago?

Aside from Skyrim, I was playing my 3DS almost exclusively back then. So Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Resident Evil: Revelations, Code of Princess, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Sakura Samurai, etc.

I’m on a completely different profile now but I’m pretty sure that I was (still) playing Skyrim in 2012. I also remember playing Saints Row 3 and the original Dishonored in 2012.

In 2012 I was on the 360, I switched from pc to console around 2010 and picked up a 360, I was working at the best job I'd ever had in terms of enjoyment so remember that time quite fondly.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 plenty of late late nights playing this.

Mass Effect 3

Back then I used to always want to play the latest releases ASAP and won't buy games day one and play them as fast as I could, I think a few years after this especially when the ps4 was released I started to slow down, especially with single player games. Looking back now I think 2010 to about 2015 was some really good gaming time

I logged into Origin today and saw my Mass Effect 3 playtime on my then PS3 a decade ago at this exact moment. It feels like it's only yesterday.

Based on my trophies I was doing an insanity run in Mass Effect 2 so I could get the Platinum.

2012 memories include AC revelations in the summer to prepare for AC3.

both lasted me a couple of months since i took my time with Ac games. just goofing around in the open world.

A quick scan of the trophy list shows I didn't have much time for gaming but when I did it was on my PS3 playing Mafia 2, Skyrim or GT5

Probably some of the Guitar Hero games on Wii, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, and possibly some Pokemon Black on my 3DS. Maybe some PS2 as well, but I can't remember what games, possibly Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix. Was about a week or so away from my Xbox 360, and would be playing a lot of Call of Duty Black Ops 1 and 2 with that.

Edit: According to my Activity Log for 3DS, I played Pokemon Black for about 10 min on 7/17/2012. Looks like I wasn't playing my 3DS much at the time actually. Only a couple hours total for Mario Kart 7 and Pokemon Black in July 2012. I might have been playing some GBA since I'm usually playing a handheld some. Unfortunately that Wii drowned so I can't check the logs from it.

I remember playing 2011's La Noire in 2012, as it was such a memorable experience for a film noir lover like me.

@HeavyMetalWario64DS Living in a student house I also played a lot of Guitar Hero and Rock Band with my housemates. Guitar Hero III and IV most of the bunch. I remember buying GH3 on release, and I was still playing it years later. That's the student life as well.

And 2012 was a decent year for indies as well, so I remember playing Holine Miami and FTL, while I should have been studying.

@Kidfried When my older brother moved out (he was 24), he took the Guitar Hero controllers with him. Somehow he’s living with an actual human woman. I do miss Guitar Hero though, even though I could never quite complete each game on Expert. Clone Hero’s great if you still have your controllers, fans make new tracks every so often.

@Kidfried @nessisonett I just had GH3 and on the Wii which always felt weird as you had to put the controller in the guitar.

That South Park episode just ruined GH for me though

Okay, I have to ask... how did your Wii drown? That's an unusual fate for a home console!

My room flooded and got a foot of water in it with the Wii on the floor. Got an electric shock when I picked up a plugged in Gamecube controller. Took out my PS2 as well. My X360 was on a table fortunatly, so it was fine.

@HeavyMetalWario64DS Blimey, sounds like a nightmare! Sorry to hear you lost so much (and got a nasty shock to boot) but at least one of your consoles survived, I guess. I don't know why, but I had visions of somebody chucking your Wii in a river or something; your explanation is probably where my brain should've gone, so apologies if this seems like I've asked a silly question.
