May as well put your hands in the ocean and try to stop the water flowing. People say everything they don't like is garbage, way of life. The complaints won't ever stop either and a couple of third party games or non-indies won't change it. The Vita is on life support and by this time next year it will be dead. Enjoy your time with it while you can.
We will see what Sony has planned for next year if not then it will be on life support as you said, but until then we are going to have to wait and see.
They won't have anything but the bare minimum planned for it in 2015, people just need to accept this and move on.
Well it's like you think Sony will cut off support and let it die and then there will be backlash between them and the fans... It doesn't sound good too for that situation.

"I guess an Oreshika localization announcement may not be out of the realm of the possible"
This, ladies and gentlemen just shows how good Sony is at brushing stuff under the radar. The localisation was supposed to come out this year, my god. Not only did I forget Freedom Wars was launching (so much so I forgot to put money aside) so soon but this game I literally forgot all about. Platinum stealth marketeers...
I can't blame them for not wasting money, but...
Vita will be there in full force... Problem is that could mean anything. It could just mean it's playable on the show (place) floor. It could mean indie announcements. It could be first/second/third party games. It could be... that term is too broad.
They've failed two times (when they had the materials to acknowledge Vita).

Sid said "Prominent" regarding the vita in response to a fan's disappointment about the platform, so I Don't really know what that entails but if they are trying to push vita in a way next year I wouldn't see why he would lie to the fans when there is a barren list for the vita's lineup.
I'm remaining hopeful for a repeat of Gamescom 2013. That was awesome for Vita players. On the subject of Vita, why is everyone so overjoyed to see it fail?

No-one is, almost everyone now have just had enough of the bull from Sony and have accepted the console is dead, enjoying the few games we get. A few people, like yourself and Enobmah, are sticking with optimism (fair play to you) but the rest of us have been stung too many times by a company who quite clearly couldn't give a toss about it's customers.

As I said in my other message to you, he's not going to say anything different, is he? You go into an Apple store and rant at how bad the new iPhone is and all the problems you have with it he won't say, "Sir, you're right, it's utter sh**. Please never shop with us again as we can't be trusted. Go forth and spread the word to the globe!" is he? He'll tell you what you what the company line is.
If there were Indies at this particular event, how would the audience react in such a way regarding the Vita? Of course some do want Sony to at least see something interesting.
What would a company do if the fans started backlashing and then "booing" during the show? Wouldn't be anymore different than that, would it?
Anyways if we see something good, but I Don't expect it, then good for us. If not let's just leave it at that. I would really like to see Sony step up their game on the vita even though I am a disappointed Vita owner just like you guys...

I honestly think you are making a mountain out of a mole here. Really there is not much you can do. You have the Vita just enjoy it for what it is instead of worrying what will happen to it.
As long as you enjoy it who cares if they stop supporting it or what others think? You have it there is stuff out there for it just relax and play what you like stop worrying what others think.
I think Sony at this point doesn't quite know what they are doing. I might be wrong but I heard that they are having financial issues so even if they want to support the Vita it might be a case of they just can't financially. Honestly I rather them just concentrate full force on the PS4 and slowly phase out the Vita.

There is the fact that Japanese developers and indies quite like the thing. Hell, I can practically guarantee that Freedom Wars will be a success, since many active Vita owners seem to have bought it.

Smaller Japanese developers quite like it. Capcom, Namco Bandai, Square Enix, Tecmo Koei, Sega, etc have abandoned it (bar a few from Sega).
Sadly the install base of the console is that minute that it will need 90% of people to buy the game for Freedom Wars to be a success. 20-40% of a few thousand isn't a success in any way. It will never be a success as the majority of Vita owners now have the machine for PS+ and, as a big(ish) game it will be on the service by Easter so they'll wait. Also it will do nothing whatsoever in attracting non owners to the Vita. Freedom Wars looks great, not got it yet but I will this week, but is Joe Public who buys FIFA and COD every year going to buy a Vita and FW? Not in a million years. Vita has nothing to attract casuals, even Minecraft. Why would you buy a Vita and a copy of the game when kids have it on their parents phone or their own tablet? One in fifty might want it on a proper console the others don't care.
So, no, I'm sorry you can't "practically guarantee Freedom Wars will be a success" - hell you'd have to be wildly optimistic for it to be a niche success now. And that's shocking.
I'd say there's enough core consumers on Vita to carry the thing, at least in terms of Japanese games. Atlus was surprised at how well Persona 4 Golden sold for instance. And before people say: "Then what about Persona Q?" That deal was signed before P4G was released.
Anyway, does tweeting Shuhei Yoshida help in finding any big games for vita? He seems to not want to respond to me on that and is very quiet. Is he the right person to talk to about that?

Fortunately Aksys, Xseed, NISA and co seem to be making enough money localizing Vita titles that they'll continue to bring titles
On a separate note, does anyone knows what the format of the December 6 event its gonna be? is there gonna be gamescon/e3 style conference or Sony would just be making ramdom announcements throughout the day?
I'm betting on there being both announcements throughout and a press conference the first day. Maybe there'll be a press conference for PS4 the first day, and a Vita Direct the second. Putting the Vita, a predominantly Japanese device, in the same conference with a system that serves the exact same audience as the Xbox 360 might be considered a bad move.
