Topic: Nico Nico for Ps Vita

Much to my suprise after downloading the Gravity Rush demo today, I noticed that Nico Nico is now a downloadable app on the Ps Vita! Nico Nico is a video streaming service, a bit like youtube, where users can comment on live videos, host live videos and do much more. I was pretty suprised mainly because 97% of Nico Nico's users are japanese, roughly 1% of the users are native english speakers.

     I chatted with a few japanese people here and there and overall I have mixed feelings. Loading a video takes a while, and the video lags at that. But chatting and watching video's is great fun when it works, I could see myself using this app a lot. Are you guy's planning to use this app?

I can only assume this won't get a European release, and even if it did, I don't really see the appeal myself.

It's most likely the American version we got. Nico Nico Douga is the Japanese one.

I will download the Nico Nico app later this evening. I am quite curious as it was also mentioned that live streaming should be possible with the PS Vita later on. Hope this works out well!

I kept getting "video failed to load" messages. Like when I tried to watch the NASA feed. I did watch a japanese guy streaming his play of Starcraft 2 though.

The comments on the NASA channel are rude but extremely hilarious! I keep recieving error messages also, like "Playback Failed," but to be honest this is the most fun I had with my Ps Vita... The error messages are probably occuring because like Mickeymac said, its based off of the (beta) English version of Nico Nico Douga. Sony's E3 conference will also be streaming live on Nico, but with all the lag I doubt it'll let you in the live stream much less run at all.

yeah I think it's a lot of fun too and has lots of potential. but i often get "playback failed" and also "your spot has been given to a premium member". If that's what happens when things are busy I don't suspect the vita will be a good place to watch the e3 conference.
