With the release of Tekken 8 I got thinking who is the greatest fighting game character of all time if you could combine every roster ever? For me personally it's Mai from king of fighters, the only character within my friendship group I've never lost with and never lost online with as well. Tiger knee me with your comments

Best fighting game character? i dont know , i use whose appealing to me in each game but i dont really have a “favorite” . i have a favorite video game character but favorite fighting game character ? ehh ….I guess ibuki from street fighter . my favorite/best version of her is in Street fighter 4. Love her playstyle , design, & personality even though they could’ve toned down her horniness tbh .(surprisingly enough - adon is actually my main in SF4 but that doesn’t mean i like him…i just like his playstyle)

if you combined all fighting game rosters ? that’s tough too . there’s just too many to only stick to one . i usually main more than one character .

Ryu - he invented the projectile (in a meta sense)

**** DLC!

Tasuki

There are so many I like but I would have to say Heihachi Mishima. Just the whole story behind him and then how it all came to an end in Tekken 7 was just brilliant. One of the reasons that Tekken is my favorite fighting game series.

That little dinosaur that farts in one of the Tekken games.

I will make this easier, seen as most fighting games have a team battle mode pick a team of 4. Mine is mai (KOF), Kilik (soul calibur), Ken (Street fighter) and Alisa Bosconovitch (Tekken)

Mitsurugi from Soul Calibur

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

@JohnnyShoulder the joke characters are sometimes the best in fairness. I got really good as lizardman in soul calibur in soul calibur and my mates hated it, equally my mate got really good as panda in tekken and annoyingly couldn't beat him

@QualityGeezer It might have been in Tekken Tag Tournament, as I seem to remember Eddy being a favourite due his combos being quite easy to link together. And that is the first I can remember playing with Eddy in it.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero are surely pretty iconic

Controversial opinion but I do not think that Tekken has all that many ''great'' or ''iconic'' characters in a wider meta sense. You can show Ryu or Chun Li to pretty much anyone (whether gamer or not) and they will recognise the character. They occupy that special place in society where you'll find the likes of Mario, Sonic, Cloud, Doomguy, Link, Pikachu etc.
Heihatchi and Kazuya are probably closest to knocking at that door though.

@LifeGirl I know what you mean but I think that's a credit to Tekkens roster that it's so well rounded that the is no real stand out characters. I get your point about RYU being a pop culture kind of icon but it's the eternal question RYU or Ken? I'm a Ken man myself

King, a.k.a. "Big Man With Tiger Head" must surely make the grade, right?

And if we're counting Smash Bros. for this topic, then that'd open the floodgates for some of the genuine icons @LifeGirl lists up there, in which case I'd vote for Sonic.
