Topic: What Game do you want Remade or Remastered?

@Hapless Yeah I tried steaming stuff on PS Now and it was not great either. Similar experience with Stadia.

There are some great picks in this thread! MGS, Eternal Darkness, Skies of Arcadia, Alpha Protocol, The Getaway, Dead Space 2, KOTOR, Chrono Trigger... I'd be thrilled to have even ONE of these. Two or more might put me in the hospital.

I'd love to see a Jade Empire remake, as it had such a cool setting and lore. It would benefit greatly from a revamped combat system (the original was Bioware's first try at real-time combat) and some fleshing out with some of the concepts they had to cut for time.

I'd also really like to see New Vegas freed from its PS3/360 console prison, with mod support.

Man I forget how good this game was, I remember playing the demo and absolutely loving it. This game game deserves either a remake or a remaster, just as long it's put on modern hardware

@Oram77 I never got around to the sequel. Completed the first one on X360 back in the day and absolutely loved it (Greg Grunberg!), but I read that the sequel was nowhere near as good, so it fell by the wayside.
Would love to get a remake and give it a go

@FuriousMachine Oh for sure they would have to do this a RE bundle. I think I 'm in minority for liking the second more, I don't know why, maybe it was the fact it came out when I was in my angry teenage years when I wanted to fight/argue with everyone 🤣

As stated in the trophy thread, I just got platinum for Metal Gear Solid 1 and while I still think the game is a master piece and the controls for it are certainly anything but, which has made me want a remake of it now (may get heat for that), and before anyone brings up Twin Snakes don't, I really couldn't stand it, Silicon Knights did not capture the vibe of the original at all and the voice acting seemed off too. But yeah a remake of MGS1 just like they did with MGS3 would be perfect to be honest.

@Oram77 If they are being remade (remaked?) in chronological order, we will be waiting a looooooong time.

@FuriousMachine I was looking at Dante's Inferno yesterday when trying to reach for 'A', a whole tower of games came crashing down and I saw that I had an animated Dante's Inferno movie too that either came with the game or complimented the game. I'll have another look later because now I'm wondering if I'm missing some SSX games. I imagine relicensing the music would be tricky, for Burnout too. R.U.S.E. would be another good one, it's a kind of strategy game set during World War 2 and you use decoys and trickery to win a battle, not just force. Red Faction would be good too, I tested it a while ago by trying to blow a hole/tunnel from one side of the map to the other and it worked, that's really impressive for PS2 especially when I still see bullet holes despawn on PS5 games when I'm trying to draw a face.

Probably never happen, as the first game used a unique engine, and there is nobody left at BioWare that knows how to use it.

@GirlVersusGame Never played R.U.S.E. but I remember the ad campaign when it came out. It was quite different for its time. And deformable terrain was Red Faction's main draw and the game was more or less built around it. Never got around to playing that one either, but remember it got some pretty good reviews.

@Matthewnh There is a market for a remake, at least for the first one, as I've seen the topic come up time and time again. Personally, I played it to death on the Xbox 360 while achievement hunting. Must have played through 6 or 7 times. The second one was fun, but couldn't hold a candle to the first one and I can't say I've really missed it. I've yet to get through the third one, so I'm feeling a bit done with DA, to be honest. They never managed to recapture the magic of the first one, in my opinion, and I don't think they will, and with so many fantasy RPGs out there, I think I'll just move on, personally.

@Matthewnh @FuriousMachine I would LOVE a remake of Origins, it's one of the best CRPGs ever made in my humble opinion, but I would be terrified for anyone to even touch unless it was the original team and we know they have long gone, so maybe we could just have a PS5 remaster to keep it simple.

A lot of what springs to mind for me have already been or are being remade, and nostalgia alone can’t justify a new look. That said, I think something very interesting could be done with these properties if remade in the modern era: ‘Earthworm Jim’, ‘Gunstar Heroes’, ‘Skullmonkeys’, ‘Shadow Madness’, ‘Jet Force Gemini’, ‘Syphon Filter’, ‘Space Station Silicon Valley’, ‘Gauntlet Legends’, and ‘Psi-Ops’ (though ‘Control’ scratched this itch nicely😊).

I needed some visual aides so I grabbed a bunch and I think these all count.

Chase the Express goes by a couple of different names. I bought it without knowing what it even was. Also the first Mercenaries was on PS2, I thought it was on PS3 and I was surprised to see the sequel. I had to add Max Payne, it's being remade but it's not here yet. Cold Fear is pretty unique, I don't see it mentioned much. There were four SSX games, I thought three though technically five since I saw a PS4 one there too.

And lastly these, though maybe Tomb Raider has? I love those Classic Collections. I have some for other games but don't know what letter to look under, I believe those are Dragon Ages mentioned above.

I can't wait for the Max Panye remake! I think that has a high chance of being an all time classic (if remade well of course). I would love a Dante's inferno remake that game was seriously slept on, yeah it was a GoW rip off but it's a damn good one and has really memorable boss fights and locations. The Getaway absolutely deserves at least a remaster as having the whole to drive around was ground breaking at the time.
