@TheBrandedSwordsman it looks like it’s been out for a while in the UK so you might have already seen it, but just in case, I saw this and thought of you.

Quite the trailer for Doctor Strange 2. Looking really great actually, Sam Raimi seems to have nailed the aesthetic and it’s great hearing Danny Elfman music in a Marvel movie again. A certain somebody coming back has blown my mind though!

I’m a little worried about the multiverse narrative loophole becoming a little overplayed in order to get all these crossover characters from years ago into the modern movies. It’s super cool for us fans, but like I mentioned in my impressions of No Way Home, the average casual viewer may not be as mesmerized at seeing Professor X, or characters from the Fantastic Four or other Comics invading the MCU, unless the core storyline is well done enough to have it all make sense. Just dropping a cameo is cute if it’s an Easter Egg, but if they’re going to give the call-back character(s) major roles, it better darn well make sense in the context of the narrative. Which for the record, it did make sense in No Way Home.
And the consistent quality the MCU puts out makes me confident this will be yet another enjoyable mash-up, and not fall to the lowest common denominator like X-men Last Stand or Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer 😅
@Th3solution Yeah, the multiverse is definitely overused now but hey, if I get Ioan Gruffudd reprising his role as Mr Fantastic in the MCU (which is very unlikely) then I’ll call it even 😂

@Jimmer-jammer Thanks for thinking of me, looks like a good film. I haven't seen it, but I'll try to pick it up on dvd later if I don't get round to seeing it in the cinema.

So I started watching Jurassic Park 3 yesterday since I felt like watching a movie before going to bed. Watched half of it and decided to leave the rest for later. Went to Netflix to watch the rest of it today and it was gone. Searched for it and it didn't show up at all. Apparently Netflix removed it (as well as other Jurassic Park movies) literally the day after I started watching it! I've never had this happen to me before, what the hell.
And in all honesty, I was enjoying this movie a lot more than the second one. Really sucks that they removed it. Is there no way to know beforehand when movies/TV shows will be removed from Netflix besides them having to make a huge announcement like they did with the Marvel shows?
@LtSarge Yeah, I had that happen to me while I was in the middle of watching Casino Royal on Amazon Prime. They yanked it without warning and when I went back to watch it, it required rental fee. But I’ve noticed it popped onto Netflix, which I subscribe to, so I just have to jump over onto another platform to watch it (just haven’t had the time).
One thing nice about HBO Max is they have a section in the app called “Last Chance”’ or “Leaving Soon” or something like that, so you can filter through to see which shows will be leaving within the next month in case you want to quickly watch before they’re gone. I learned that the hard way when I went to watch They Shall Not Grow Old and it was gone. Ticked me off as I really was looking forward to watching that (still am) and it hasn’t showed up on any other service yet.

@Th3solution Oh I didn't notice that when I was subscribed to HBO Max last time. I've actually been wanting to subscribe to HBO Max next month when my Netflix sub runs out since I want to watch the Lord of the Rings movies. Will have to take advantage of that feature to make sure that I can watch those movies without them leaving while I'm halfway through them, lol.
@LtSarge They also have a “Coming Soon” feature which shows which movies will be added next month. So it’s nice to have to both ways — what is leaving and what is coming. They seem to be the most transparent about it. I’m not sure why the other streaming services aren’t clear about when things are coming and going.

@nessisonett Probably because JJ's plan to take over Star Wars didn't exactly pan out, and he's looking for another excuse to blow up some spaceships again.
Between this and Sonic, Paramount have certainly been splashing the speculative cash lately.

Finally got back to watching the Bond movies. Moonraker was… kinda rubbish but also strangely fun? It actually had less dodgy misogyny than normal but replaced that with bizarre Star Wars-esque laser gun fights in space. For every fantastic fight scene, including a standout fencing one across both a museum and a clock tower, something idiotic pulls you out. Just a symptom of the Moore ones in general. I get that he’s in a gondola hovercraft car thing but do we need the million shots of a man looking into his wine, a waiter spilling a drink on his customer, a woman fainting, birds flying around in distress etc? A bit overkill. Might as well have had a big opera singer man shout ‘Mamma Mia’ and collapse and be done with it. Also Holly Goodhead is one of the worst names yet. But yeah, the dumbest nadir for Bond while also being more interesting than some of the other movies.

@nessisonett Yeah, it's total nonsense, but it's lavish nonsense. Like, if you're gonna eat an entire chocolate cake, don't just get a Tesco Value one; make it a fancy chocolate cake from a really posh cake shop. When you're looking for spectacle and farce, Moonraker is the ultimate Bond flick (and it obviously worked, as it was the highest-grossing entry in the series until GoldenEye came along).
That being said, it also contains one of the best Bondian moments of all time. Along with when he kicks that bowing karate kid in the face, this is Moore at his most savage.
