Most people have very little knowledge of how money works. My advice: keep it that way. It's a rabbit hole not worth going down in my opinion.

Oh sorry, didn't mean to come across as creepy and mysterious. It's just something I looked into/researched a couple of years back. Turns out that pretty much all currency these days is based on nothing but faith that it works and will continue to do so. The implications made my head hurt (occasionally still does). I figured that's a good use for the phrase that 'ignorance is bliss'.

Mmmm chocolate. Fairly certain as a Catholic I should be doing something other than stuffing my face for Easter but hey, I’m making lamb so that’s Eastery enough.
@nessisonett As kids we used to paint boiled eggs and roll them down our lane. I wonder if that's still a thing
Lamb sounds great, the Mrs and I are just getting over covid so nothing to fancy to eat for us , It only came up very faint in my LFTs but she is still testing positive with thick black lines.
@MightyDemon82 I definitely remember painting eggs when I was a kid, although quite a lot’s changed since even I was that age! I’m at least all clear from Covid now, it proper takes it out of you so take care.
I just spent an hour or so this afternoon assembling a flat pack bookshelf. Now, for the first time in my adult life, I have more space for books than books to fill it! Guess I'm gonna be heading round charity shops this week looking for anything that takes my fancy.

@Thrillho What do you reckon of Root stepping down from Skipper? There's really no one to replace him imo, unless Stokes, Broad or Billings can step up, there's even been speculation about Burns doing it but there are so few players with a guaranteed place in the team so it's hard to say.

@nessisonett@MightyDemon82 Painting eggs is definitely still a thing, our kids came home from school with theirs last week. Unfortunately one of them exploded today (an egg that is not a child) when something fell out of a kitchen cupboard right on top of it 😬
Not a bad Easter at all. Lamb was nice even if I totally forgot to cook any veg other than potatoes. Doctor Who wasn’t too bad, Gentleman Jack’s still a great show and I have plenty of chocolate. Shame about the football score but it was still a good watch. Even got some good news about an essay I wrote while having a genuine mental breakdown before seeking help. Which surprised me given the essay is absolute steaming dogsh*t and it was incredibly apparent that I’d written 4000 words in 2 days. Think I’ll celebrate with a bit of Arkham Knight although I’ll need to study extra hard tomorrow to make up for it. So a good day! Hope everyone else who celebrates chocolate/Jesus/etc had a good day too.
Well a busy weekend is almost at an end and a good one it has been too..played golf 3 out of 3 so far with my highlight having shot out on 88 over 18 yesterday and i still have 1 day left to try and better that before i have to go back to work and deal with the idiot brigade...managed to get a few hours of elden ring in. Hope everybodys was good..
@TheBrandedSwordsman Probably the right decision but a bit of a void now in English cricket with so many resignations since the WIndies series!
I don’t know much about Rob Key to say whether that appointment is a good once but it sounds like a bit of a gamble.
As for captaincy, I think Stokes should stay as VC as he’s had a lot of off-field problems and giving him the captaincy might be too much. There isn’t exactly a plethora of other candidates though.
I quite liked the idea of Broad in the short term but I don’t think he’s keen. Buttler I’ve seen mentioned but that would be harsh on Foakes (unless Jos just bats). Burns maybe if he dropped himself down the order but it’s openers we’re struggling to find!
As for my Easter, it’s the first time I’ve been up to see my parents since Xmas 2019! (they have been down to see me in the interim a few times).
So it’s been nice to see them and to see my 97yo grandad who is still amazing. And then the in-laws are only half an hour from them so we’re spending a few days with them now after Sunday lunch all together.
