Wouldn't expect this topic to be particularly popular, but yes, count me in.
Setting up a trap and catching an opponent to get the upper hand is a great feeling as is spotting a trap they've left for me and managing to avoid it. Never gets old. Not playing much at the moment but always very happy to accept a game from anyone. Assuming they haven't crushed me several games in a row of course, lol. Then I might be slightly more reluctant.
@LieutenantFatman What is your rating? Sounds like a seasoned pro to me, especially as you trounced me when we played online, obviously people are free to arrange games on here as well, so hopefully some people will bite at the prospect of playing some of their fellow Push Squarers at a cordial game of chess.

Interesting, I suppose some might say he comes across being a bit arrogant at the end but with that amount of confidence, it's probably quite intimidating for some opponents, giving him even more of an advantage.
I'm not used to using a chess clock, only tried using one once, certainly made for an interesting game. I'm used to taking as much time as I need so definitely adds another dynamic to it.
I'm not very good at chess. I beat most of battle vs chess campaign and the level 3 computer. But yeah I'm not great, making way too many mistakes.
@Draco_V_Ecliptic I wish they were made to play until the check mate, I want to see what happens next and how that position is used to close out.

Would have been nice to see as you say, I guess neither of them saw the point. But to be honest I like being on a level where both players can make mistakes, it's much more exciting.
@LieutenantFatman Did you find that the chess clock hampered or improved upon your performance?
What do you think of the Sicilian Defense as an opening? I think there must be a sufficient way to counteract it, but I can't think of one off the top of my head.

@LieutenantFatman I suspect we are about to have our a**es handed to us. Well, maybe not you, but I suspect that this guy has a high FIDE rating. Seems very confident.

I was pretty terrible with the clock to be honest. I managed to win with a lot of luck, it would be fun to have some more games with that in place, really ups the tension.
I don't think I've really tried the Sicilian Defense before, think I'll have to give that one a go, looks interesting!

One draw, one win to me, and we're on a third game where he's currently winning, pretty much in the end game now. Seem to be evenly matched so far, good fun.
