@seinfeldfanatic I mean, Resident Evil Remake maybe if not one of the best survival horror games ever made (imo of course) it's funny how many people didn't know it was a Gamecube exclusive until 2015.
@Oram77 Glad you had a great time with Cronos as well! Totally agree with everything you've mentioned. I still have to play Dead Space to be able to make that comparison (or not), but from the outside looking in, it does seem like it has a lot of its own identity. Some stellar writing in there, like the scene where the Warden plays the piano. That one has definitely stuck with me. I still gotta follow up with Silent Hill f at some point this year before Townfall drops! Really liked the remake of the second game as well. Did you play any of the Layers of Fear and are you excited for the new one?
I'm cautiously optimistic for Directive 8020. Dark Pictures has burned me more than once, but it's not hard to want to try it as one of the few story-driven horror co-op experiences out there. I love it conceptually and thought House of Ashes and Man of Medan are solid, whilst I disliked my time with the others. This new one seems right up my alley in terms of its concept however, so I'm praying it's the best yet with how much more time they've had polishing this one!
And don't mind seinfeldfanatic, I've seen them going around reacting provocatively to plenty a reasonable response. Not sure what their intention on this forum is if it's clearly not to have enjoyable discussions.
Curious to see how people feel about Townfall? I think it has a lot of promise, they definitely nailed to atmosphere of a Silent hill game, the lighting in some of the shots encapsulated that for me at least. But like with all modern SH games I'm a little worried about the combat, but will hold off on judgement till I see more.
@nomither6 Pretty sure I'm on your ignore list, but I'll responded anyway lol. I glad to see a fellow enjoyer of Outlast, the original and Whistle Blower DLC will forever be peak imo, 2 was ok but the ending was way too ambiguous will give it credit for touching on extremely brutal subject matters iykyk.
Ok I'll bite, care to go into detail why you think that about Resident evil, always like hearing a hot take about something.
@Yousef- Care to talk about this phobia? (of course you don't have to if you don't want to)

There's hardly been any buzz around this game, but I'm curious to see if there are any horror fans (espeically Lovecraftian enjoyer) out there that are looking forward to playing this?

@Oram77 I'm very much looking forward to it! I played both The Council and Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong, so I've been excited for their next effort. The Council, I thought, was very enjoyable. I liked VTMS quite a lot less, but that's because the pacing was just all over the place and the characters felt a lot more wooden. I still really like their core game-play integrating more RPG aspects into the choose-your-own-adventure style, so that in and of itself is enough to get me intrigued in any project they create. I'm not very familiar with Cthulhu lore, but as long as it's a fun story, I'm super in. I've been avoiding marketing material on it so I can go in as unspoiled as possible, so I'm just eagerly awaiting the reviews to see what they say. Unless it's a total disaster, I'm sure I'll give it a try! Did you play the demo or watch all the marketing for it? What do you think of how it looks so far?
Honestly I looks really good and if you are a big fan of fixed camera angles and pre-rendered backgrounds, then is a game for you. I will be picking this up once Saros is done and dusted that's for sure.

Wish they'd release SH: The Room not a remaster just put the original on the PS store already like they did with Siren. Well Forbidden Siren at any rate don't think we ever got FS2. I could do with a decent survival horror game as am getting serious Crimson Desert fatigue the insane boss levelling is ridiculous now put me off it being GOTY.
@THEBrew To be honest SIlent 1 - 4 need to be ported over to current consoles as they truly are the best psychological horrors games ever made, I hope Konami aren't trying to make people forget about the originals with the remakes they are doing...

@Oram77 I can't really see why they don't unless they worry it'll take interest away from the Bloober remakes of 2 and 1. Makes no sense though as I like the originals and the remakes well of 2 and can't see 1 being any different. There seems a bit of a drought now for horror for a few months, may have to get the last Fatal Frame game.
Started Maid of Sker today and was pleasantly surprised a few hours in it's solid. Tried the Remothered games again prior to that hearing SH legend Akira is doing the third's soundtrack but Jesus the first two games are pants. Just janky and no clear progression it's like totally random what or where you have to go. MOS on the other hand it has a Resi feel maybe on a tighter budget but so far so good.
@Miserydhala I have a feeling we will see more on Hellraiser at summer games fest, but we def needs to see more on it soon!
@THEBrew Never heard of that game, so I looked it up and does look pretty good, gives me Layers of fear vibes. If you look at my previous comment about the ground zero that could be a game for you... if you look old school style, like fixed camera angles and tank controls.

@Oram77 Thanks, I'd never heard of Ground Zero and loved Dino Crisis so it may be my next purchase.
Maid of Sker reminds me a bit of Resi 7 surprised at it being so good really although granted I'm only a few hours in. It's one of those games where the atmosphere is pretty solid which obviously is quite important in any horror game.
@Oram77 Now that looks right up my street and it's not big bucks in the UK either just ordered thanks for the head's up. I did a little research and some said it was rough at launch but they've been patches since so all good. I think it'll arrive early next week and Maid of Sker isn't going to take that long to beat I doubt. I do have this weird spider train game too not sure if that exactly is survival horror but as I don't rate spiders it may be creepy. With Total Chaos though it's giving me classic horror vibes like the Suffering games maybe a bit of Evil Within. Have you played the two Fatal Frame/Project Zero remakes? I played the originals and liked them but not sure I found them scary as ghosts don't freak me out but either way the originals were good games.
