@Metonymy if you don’t mind a longer delivery time (as I know you’re the other side of the pond), try amazon uk mate. The normal physical is around £30 rn… and the steelbook was just over £40
@graymamba Well, tough to not extend some sympathy, so I do hope it’s not something that progresses.
Honestly I haven’t really considered the fact that there’s a legitimate possibility that I could become physically or mentally disabled before I clear my backlog! New fear unlocked! 😅
I used to think I’d ‘outgrow’ my love for video games, but it’s just not happening so far and I am starting to see that there’s plenty of people like yourself in their 40’s and beyond who still routinely play. I’ve come to the conclusion now that I will likely always play games in one form or another, all the way to my final days. I do wonder about the ever aging gaming population and the expansion of accessibility options that are going to be needed. Neural interface does sound like a good idea!

@Th3solution I think the great thing about games is that the medium is always evolving. Even if you outgrow it for some time, eventually there will be something that begs you to come back to it just to see what the new hype is all about. Loving games is not necessarily something you'll unlearn in time more so than needing to find the spark again, like in any long-term relationship with risk of burn-out! As I've mentioned in these parts before, I was a huge gamer in my early teens and somewhat outgrew it in my later teens. I'd still play the occasional game here and there when one really caught my eye, but they were few and far between compared to more active gamers. It's only been in the last year (little over a decade later) that I've truly gotten back into it, to the point where I've finished about 25 games in the last year. I don't think I've hit that number since my early teens, so like I said, there's always hope to get back to your backlog even if you (largely) drop the hobby for an extended time! (And lord knows, my backlog is huge thanks to it... send help)
@Tjuz Very true, indeed. I don’t know if gamers are born or created (nature vs nurture…?) but I’ve always come back to it, even after having breaks away from gaming. It’s been several years since I had a substantial gaming sabbatical though. I think I’d have to go back to the early PS4 or late PS3 generation to see the last time that I didn’t turn my console on for over a month. I’m not sure why I have had such a run. I definitely had more free time in my youth but as you mentioned, there was a more limited number of experiences and over time there’s just so many new things brought to the medium and so it’s hard for me to ever grow bored. When I have occasionally drifted away for a couple weeks it’s usually been due to personal schedule issues, or just a weird mental state where it’s not that the games weren’t there to enjoy but rather I was mentally fatigued or dealing with something unusual that takes me out of the mood.

One of two big purchases in the PS Store's new Black Friday sale, just grabbed the complete "Ultimate Collection" version of Need for Speed Unbound for thirteen bucks.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II - Ultima Limited Edition
The Last of Us Part I
@graymamba Yep, I did the same. That kinda price is a great bargain for a game that, had circumstances allowed, I would have definitely picked up at launch. Here's hoping we enjoy!

@Werehog yeah I feel a little bad that I didn’t cough up full price for it, as the devs no doubt deserve it. Cutesy platformer aren’t really my thing though, so I’ve been in no rush. I’m sure I’ll end up thinking it’s great though no doubt
@BeyondKnight Best of luck with MindsEye. I'd love to see them turn that game around, as I'm sure that it's nowhere near as bad as people say. Hope you have fun with it, at any rate!
