@KilloWertz Yeah, I think those with that character are the “suspicious mail” ones, iirc. I am in Chapter 4 now so I haven’t done any of them past that.

AC Shadows. No idea when I'll play it, but I always get stuck in to the new AC's and enjoy the comfort loop of base clearing, sneaking, historical settings and all that jazz. I'd be a lot more hyped if it was out before KCD2, but it isn't, so I'm not 😅 but at some point I will be? Maybe.

@Ravix I don't think jazz was around in that era. Ba dum tsh

@JohnnyShoulder Looks like @Ravix just leaked the next Assassins Creed game. Set in 1920’s New Orleans.

Dualsense Edge and some spare sticks.

F*** you, Sony 😭 I've caved in and got your stupid expensive controller. at least the sticks are in stock for once, though. Heads up to anyone needing the spare analogues at retail price rather than scalper prices

A little background flavour. The regular dualsense that came with the Pro is already drifting worse than any controller I've ever owned, and is leading the other controllers in the drift contest by a country mile, which makes menu navigation utter hell 😅

It feels like they make these things worse than ever. My first bundled controller that came with the PS5 was pretty chunky feeling and lasted years, with other subsequent ones all doing relatively okay, despite getting lighter.

The Pro only came out 4/5 months ago, and the controller gets no more use than any other 🤷‍♂️

I bought physical copies of Final Fantasy XVI & Astro-Bot recently (Though I've already beaten Astro).

But I've also bought Alisa and Saints Row 3 remastered digitally.

Alisa being an old school survival horror game that really nails that PlayStation 1 aesthetic. Looking forward to playing it soon~!

There was a really good offer for it so I bought Hogwarts Legacy for just over £20.

@HallowMoonshadow As maligned as it was, Hogwarts was my GOTY for 2023. Really great game if you like the source material and don’t mind the whole open world collectathon.

Yeah I liked the films and the books so I was always going to get it eventually @Th3solution.

I was just waiting to see if it would get that rumoured DLC and re-release before buying in but seeing as that was supposedly cancelled recently though I decided to finally get it... And now it arrives on PS+ Extra the day I purchase it lol

Wow, I just did something I very rarely do these days: I pre-ordered a game! The "new normal" pricing of new releases is just to dear for my tastes and I honestly don't think many games are worth it. So whenever a new game comes along that interests me, on the wishlist it goes, awaiting a sale with a price point worth it.
However, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a game I've been excited about for a long while now, turned out to have palatable price point and considering that I want to play it right now (and I mean really want to), pre-ordering was a no-brainer. Now I can hardly wait for the 24th to roll around

@FuriousMachine I'm similar, but I've no issue with the price of games as I can personally afford to buy the games I'm interested in when they release. I just choose not to most of the time and the game has to be really special for me to pre-order it. I think only Elden Ring and the expansion I've pre-ordered this gen.

@FuriousMachine I'm with you regarding Clair Obscur. I'm incredibly excited for it! I can't believe it's less than a week away!

"For those who come after."

FuriousMachine

@JohnnyShoulder Yeah, I can still afford it, though not as comfortably as I once could. It's just that I don't think games are worth it at that price point. As an example, "Star Wars: Outlaws" would cost me, with the current exchange rate, $85 for just the base game, which is quite absurd. And this is at a time when the exchange rate for NOK to USD is at its most favourable in years. So that dreaded "will games RRP at $80?" future is already here for me (and has been for a while).

@Kairuuu I know! Been a long time since I've been this excited for a new release. I watched IGN's "final preview" earlier today, and just what he said about the storytelling alone was enough for my excitement levels to hit the stratosphere. Add to that the unique setting, the astonishing graphics and what looks like a fantastic combat system, this could quickly become an all-time favourite for me, if it delivers on its promises.

FuriousMachine

Kairuuu

@FuriousMachine If it delivers, it'll be my game of the year, without a doubt. I was sold the second I saw that shot of the Eiffel Tower folded over and I've been needing this game ever since. The art direction just looks phenomenal and it looks like it's going to have everything I could want in a video game.

I'm so incredibly excited.

Th3solution

@FuriousMachine @Kairuuu I’ve been tempted by the Clair Obscur pre-order discount. It saves $5 to pre-order, and as you say, it’s actually launching at a reasonable price anyway ($50 here). I’ve hovered over the pre-order button a few times but as it stands I have so many titles lined up to play that it will have to review astonishingly well to cut in line ahead of the other games I have. So as of now I’m holding off, but I’ll be very interested to see how everyone likes it!

FuriousMachine

@Kairuuu @Th3solution The release timing is quite fortuitous as well, for me, as I've just finished up a long stretch of "Marvel Midnight Suns" and I've started "Life is Strange 2". I typically try to not have more than one game going at any given time, as it too often leads to games going unfinished as focus wanes, but this rule doesn't really apply to "Life is Strange" type games. There is a good chance that I'll finish it close to release of "Clair Obscur" and, if not, I think I'll be able to alternate between them without any problems

FuriousMachine

Kairuuu

@Th3solution @FuriousMachine You'll have to let us know if you pick it up. I don't think we have a dedicated thread for it so I'm considering possibly making one where we can discuss it if a few of us will be playing it.

HallowMoonshadow

Sorry Hogwarts Legacy but you're on the backburner cus I just bought The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Couldn't help but give into the shadow drop hype. Oblivion is SOOOOOO much better then Skyrim to me so I'm really looking forward to playing this gem once again!

Th3solution

@HallowMoonshadow I’ve never played Oblivion. I’m sure I can find this elsewhere with a simple google, but in your experience and opinion, why is Oblivion better than Skyrim? That’s probably a complicated question, so apologies. I really loved Skyrim back in PS3. Among my favorite games of the entire generation, actually. But subsequently I’ve not felt any desire to play it again, nor it’s DLC. I think I spent so much time in that world that I really had my fill. Is Oblivion really all that different? In my mind I’m imagining it to play like an expansion to Skyrim so I’m having a hard time getting hyped. 😅
