@JohnnyShoulder I feel I should clarify, when I said that I was "getting knackered" using adaptive triggers, I didn't mean that I was suffering any ill effects. It was more my personal frustration at having to fight to perform basic actions which all other games let me perform smoothly, without interference. I got tired of the feature's implementation, not the feature itself. You're right, we all have different tolerance thresholds!

@Kidfried Yeah, I'm sorry it's not helpful to retroactively suggest now, but @Thrillho is right to say that the best way to experience Jedi: Fallen Order is to play its PS4 version on a PS5.

Like you say, hurrah for free upgrades, though. Means I was able to earn its platinum twice!

Finished a third playthrough of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales yesterday. Surprised myself by taking the time to 100% every marker on the map along the way, too. Figured I'd just wanna do a quick story run, but the game's just so gosh-darn brilliant, and Miles is simply that compelling. There's a moment towards the end of the post-story side quest where he says "I'm not ready for this to be over" and I was in total agreement. I could start it all over again tomorrow and still be a happy gamer.

@RogerRoger Cool congratulations. Spider-man Miles Morales have been a game that have been on my mind since I finished the original Spideman game last year. Have since then been so busy with ohter games that I have not yet have had time to play it.

Started playing Octopath Traveler 2 tonight. I was a bit hesitant to start as the first one ultimately bummed me out quite badly with the shoddy writing but 2 hours in to Throné’s story and I either got lucky with picking a pretty great starter character, or I am in for a much better time overall!

@kyleforrester87 Judging by the couple of reviews I've seen for the game, the game is definitely better than the first one, so it's the latter at least. I can't comment on the characters as I'm waiting to buy the game since I have plenty of other stuff to play and Square Enix games always drop in price nicely, but I do look forward to playing it.

@kyleforrester87 It’s on my wish list for sure as it’s been ages since I played such a game and Jason Schreier has been banging on about how much he loved it on Twitter too. I’m not sure I’ve seen a bad review for it either.

@oliverp Well, if it helps, it's real short compared to the first game. You could probably blast through its story in six or seven hours, and a 100% run would only take twice that (maybe even less).

That being said, you're smart to be playing other things between it and its predecessor. Miles feels different enough to stand as a unique character, but it's still the same gameplay, played out across the same map. Anyway, am sure you'll love it as and when!

Playing slightly dated games but been about a month into playing them and they are amazing.

Spider-Man: Remastered
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (which in my eyes is a masterpiece, from the music, the fight mechanics, the graphics, the story, it may be a near perfect game. the only thing that is a slight let down in my opinion is that its not open world but in saying that Survivor drops next month!)

Diablo IV for me. I’m not normally one to put a lot of time in to a beta, but this has hooked me. I’ve played it for 13 hours, finished Act I and got my character to level 25, which is the max level in the beta.

I made a start on Deaths Door and it is exactly the game I needed to be playing at the moment. It's wonderful. Only maybe 3-4 hours in and save game counter says @25% - just beat the Granny and got my first giant soul. I love the exploration, the simplicity of the gameplay/controls and the degree of challenge in the combat. The graphical aesthetic, haunting melodies and dry, dark humour is really ticking a lot of boxes for me right now.
Not gonna have a load of gaming time this week but already looking forward to spending another hour or so on it tomorrow.

@sorteddan it’s a wonderful game but with one of the worst maps of all time.

A great mix of puzzles, platforming, and combat. I hope you know about only using the umbrella if you’re after the platinum too!

It also has a complete lack of tracking collectibles too which makes finding all the seeds a nightmare (a late game item helps a little but much). Some of the post game stuff is also very cryptic/impossible without a guide.

I hope you do enjoy it though!

@Thrillho
Yeah I was aware but leaving the Umbrella for a second playthrough after I have hopefully already done everything else and better know the lay of the land. Also I'm quite happy to use guides/vids to help me with collectables after I beat the main game.

Thanks for the words of advice though.

Started playing Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror shortly after it dropped this morning.

It's my first PSP game on PS5 and honestly, the port's a mixed bag. Having recently discovered the PS Vita's glorious button re-mapping when playing PSP games, it's a bit of a shock to find no equivalent on PS5, and it's therefore jarring to be wrestling with a hamstrung control scheme whilst holding a DualSense. Back on PSP it felt understandable (if not entirely natural) to move the camera with Square, Circle, Triangle and Cross but here, my thumb keeps wandering over to the right analogue stick, only to find it entirely useless.

As such, what was always a slow, deliberate spy shooter feels even slower, to the point where I'd even call it clunkier to play than its PSone predecessors. Sure, you get the same instant rewind feature to help compensate for any fatal fumbles, but it'd be nice not to have to fumble at all, y'know?

Otherwise, the game itself is pretty cool. It's ambitiously cinematic for a PSP game, and whilst its early levels feel bite-size to a fault, some later missions last longer, to allow some compelling story to sink in. There's even a couple of NPC escort sections which somehow manage to be not terrible! And sure, it's not a looker by modern standards, but everything's solid enough, and the graphical uptick reveals some nice textures which might've gone unnoticed on older hardware.

I'm having fun with it, at least. Probably not a game I'd recommend to newcomers, though.

Started playing Astro's Playroom. My god this game is perfect! Fun platformer that oozes creativity and has tons of throwbacks to PlayStation history. I'm constantly smiling while playing this game, it's just so good and it's free to boot.

@LtSarge
Exactly how I felt with it. Such a joyful little free game to start your PS5 days with.

@RogerRoger not related but did you ever play the PSP version of Tomb Raider Legends on Vita? Is camera control ok? Did you map the right stick?

Never actually played it and thought it could be a good way to do so…

Same for Anniversary, actually, although I have played that one through on PS2.

Started playing Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, played it a lot on PSP since 2006 so I'm not struggling with the controls but it would've been cool to have the option to use the right analog to move the camera. Still, this is my favorite PSP game and having it to play on the PS5 is great, decided to buy it outright for the $10 since I saw that was an option, think it's the first time I've seen that for a PSP Classic release.

@sorteddan Death's Door is so so so good. I totally didn't see about the umbrella trophy, so
I fought with whatever weapon I could find. In hindsight a good choice, because it gave me an extra reason to replay the game.

Very simple game in concept, but with a near perfect execution.
